I mean the New York Knicks didn't waste anytime to trade Julius randle and to include donte divenczo. I think donte will help a lot but I think that paint is going to get clogged a lot overall as a whole. I definitely would start Naz Reid at the four.๐ I kinda of concerned with the wolves spacing so Chris Finch has a lot to figure out overall.๐
That's pretty crazy how the Knicks went from perpetually mediocre at best to having Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns as their starting lineup. They aren't playing around.

For those ready for a potential reason for this, I have a guess.
Kat was on the books for 60mil thru 2028
Rudy has a player option next summer
Randle has a player option next summer
Together theyโd be 75 mil off the books and no kat.
This would allow you to resign naz and go big game hunting with a young core with the next face of the league as bait.
In an ideal world Iโm sure theyโd have liked to run it back but the ability to move kats money for randles which comes off with goberts after this year meant it had to happen now.
I was looking forward to seeing Kat in the Kings first game.

KAT is Soft. He had a couple of good playoff games, and a couple where he completely disappeared. Knicks don't need him to be an all star, so that might be okay. Twolves wanted to get rid of Kat, and obviously nobody else thought he was worth his contract.

Hi, Mo! Hi, Deuce! I think that the Timberwolves need a big banger type to go up against some of the big guys that they have to get through because KAT was often considered "soft"…. But I'm also very glad that we only have to play the Knicks twice a year.

Ant is going to average around 32 ppg this season.
Twolves didnโt need Kat due to rise of Naz Reid and he will eventually start! Randle will probably be dealt by deadline. Twolves needed to trade kat due to salary cap restrictions. More moves will eventually be made!

will be interesting to see how the knicks play him. they lost ihart so they lost size, but they added a 3 point shooting big. he can drag embiid, turner, kp out to the perimeter and give brunson room in the paint. but as a defensive big against the likes of embiid, tatum, giannis, banchero, i think it remains to be seen. also the ny media will eat this kid alive, and he's someone who gets all drake in his feelings.
as for minni, i want whatever they're mainlining. they blew it up too soon. the only saving grace i think is if they're not finished yet. maybe they go for ingram or someone else. they need another scorer and big.
Naz Reid has to be paid, Donte might take over for Conley in 1-2 years. And if Cade gets good that 1st round pick could be valuable. Interesting move by Tim Connelly, I think MIN does it to get Donte.
Knicks vs Celtics series probably comes down to what center is healthy. Nice seeing a west contender get worse

Woah, dawg, you think this noticeably loosens up the West for the Kings? I think it's safe to say the Kings have more than a handful of teams that they would need to leapfrog.
Wolves got slightly worse but imo the Knicks didn't get much better. Thibodeau is gonna have a heart attack coaching KAT because he doesn't play defense and at times doesn't have that Dog in him
I look at this trade kind of like if the kings getting derozan. It was pretty obvious the Timberwolves needed another true shot creator, we can see they usually win when Reid goes off *kind of like monk off the bench*. Now they got a true shot creator .. itโs gonna work out
