Seen this video a couple times cause it fascinates me, and I understand the premise, but some people are always gonna be salty. Bottom line, and this post will get 100 downvotes cause I’m saying something nice about Vince, but Secret Base makes a good point for about 75-90% of our fans. There’s always gonna be a loud 10-25% who forever hate Vince, but there’s just gonna be a big “oh well” to them.

Love this video, sums it up perfectly.

“No one came out of this relationship looking great. Not the fragile, moody athlete. Not the inept franchise. Not the vindictive fanbase. But time healed these wounds…

…this is one story, and it has a happy ending. This beef is history.”

I feel like the majority of Raptors fans right now are too young to have lived through the VC debacle. They know the story, the history, the aftermath, but didn’t truly experience it like some of us did. Hence why they say“time heals all wounds” because the fanbase overall may have forgotten, but some fans have not. I know we are in the minority, especially on Reddit.

I respect what he did for basketball in Canada. I respect what he did in his career. I don’t agree with honouring him and trying to revise history.

All he had to do in my book was apologize.

There are a lot of errors in this video. But sums up the important parts. I think the Raptors look soft for the jersey retirement. More thirsty actually.
This guy should be appreciated for what he did. His style of play brought basketball to the attention of white hockey Canada. As basketball was mainly loved by the blacks in Canada before the Raptors existed. I give him that. All of a sudden white people in Canada watched basketball.
