Is this your first time seeing him in a Dallas jersey or was there something in particular about this pic that makes it different from the other ones in a Dallas jersey?

Listening to Kiddās and the Mavsā players interviews today (especially Kyrie, Luka, Dwight Powell, and Lively), Iām genuinely happy for Klay. It sucks in the absolute worst way possible for us, but you can already tell the Mavs are gonna be so good for Klay and vice versa. The lens through which they view him is so noticeably different in that they donāt see him as someone they feel compelled to accommodate because of everything heās done for them, almost as if itās a burden (one he was clearly made to feel the last year especially), and instead center and focus on what he *can* do for them and how they can help and be good for each other.
Hereās Kidd:
> āFrom past experiences, after being with a team for a long time, it takes a little time because there are different names, different people, but with Klay here just watching him of late, heās ready to go. Weāre very lucky to have him on our side. I think he feels at home and heās excited about this new chapter in his career. > > … > > Every time he lets it go, it looks like itās going in and if he does miss one, it just adds to the percentage of will he make the next one and we havenāt had that here for a while. Weāve had shooters, but we havenāt had a Jason Terry or Klay Thompson. Youāre talking about rare air here when it comes to shooting. When you talk about Klay, heās one of the best shooters of all time. > > So we are very lucky to have him on our side. It just makes the game offensively easier. Spacing is a big thing in this league, and he creates that gravity. Gaff and D-Live and the guys setting the screens for him will definitely be getting him a Christmas gift, because the game will become easier for them. And so when you look at the teams that can make the game easy – Boston, ourselves – those are the ones that can win championships.ā
And then this from Kyrie on what it meant adding Klay and how/why it was āeasyā to convince Klay. The bold part stood out to me in that I think it hints at the way Warriors media can chew you up and spit you out, and when it came to Klay last season they really did nothing to help him and just kind of stood by and let it happen even when it was clearly eating away at his psyche (same happened with Poole to an extent). So it sounds like the Mavs apply a bit more of a safeguard between their players and the media, which will be huge.
> āIt was easy to āconvinceā Klay to come here because of what Iāve experienced so far in the past year and a half of just being welcomed and embraced. And I donāt mean that to be cliche, I mean that truthfully. Here in the south, in Dallas, the southern hospitality is real. **This team does a great job of protecting you, not just on the court but off the court.** They go out of their way to make sure you feel special. > > Again, I donāt mean to be cliche, but not every NBA team is the same. I think (me) being here in Dallas gave (Klay) an outsiderās view of just what it could be like for him. So Iām excited that he decided to come here, Iām excited that he decided to commit to us for the next few years. I feel like our dreams can be possible because heās here now,ā Irving said of Thompsonās importance. āHeās added great value to our championship aspirations.ā

My gut tells me Klay’s gonna get a wake up call this year. He thought the organization was holding him back, but little did he know the Warriors were the only team in the league who would have given him such a long leash.

I’m glad to see him gone, yall need to stop being so emotional. I wanna win championships, fuck all the attachment issues. I wouldnt care if we got rid of Curry, Draymond, and Wiggins either. We need a whole new team but now it’s inevitable that we end up like the SF Giants did, having a hot streak and then being terrible for 10 years.
