[Slater] Ziaire Williams said he feels like “a loose bird finally let out of his cage” after being traded from the Grizzlies to the Nets: “Some days [in Memphis], I just kind of felt like I was trapped. I definitely feel a lot more free [here]… It’s definitely a blessing in disguise.”

He’s one of the guys I’m really intrigued about this season. If he can reach another level, I think this is a great pickup

Great. Development, development, development. Evaluate and see who stays.

I know we’re likely going to lose a lot of games, but I am really looking forward to seeing this team develop.

Winning games is nice, but I am genuinely so excited to the development of guys like Williams, Clowney, Wilson and maybe Whitehead (if he’s not in the G-league). For me, it’s going to be a lot of fun to see their progression.
