[DiGiovanni] Joel Embiid on what he wants from the Sixers’ roster. “Consistency. That’s really all I demand.” He’s talked previously + mentioned again today how champions have played together for years. More than a specific style of play, he wants a team he can play with for a longer time.

    >**”I think I lost about 25-30 pounds [this summer].” — Joel Embiid**

    >”Jared McCain when he met me was calling me a Vet, and I said, ‘We got put a stop to that right now.'” — Tyrese Maxey

“Kyle Lowry is old — I won’t use that for Reggie [Jackson] and [Eric Gordon] — but Kyle Lowry is old.” — Tyrese Maxey

    >Joel Embiid said he’s lost about 25 or 30 pounds. Said he’d like to lose more. He mentioned he texted Daryl Morey immediately after the season saying he needed to do whatever it takes to be ready for the postseason. “There’s no agenda” as far as MVP, All-NBA, etc.

    >Tyrese Maxey on offseason work: “I went into the offseason with 3-4 bullet points that I wanted to get better, and I think that made it easier for me.”

    >Didn’t want to divulge any secrets but he added that he wanted to work on his body and improve his endurance.

    >Tyrese Maxey said it will be “difficult” to nail down a way to play for this new Sixers team but that they have the right coach and players to work it all out.

    >“Once we figure all that out, I think it’ll be great.”

    >Tyrese Maxey on Paul George:

    >“He’s somebody who can do a lot of different things. You can plug and play him…Nick Nurse is gonna do a good job of featuring him and putting him in the right spots to be successful. And he’s hungry [for a championship.”

    >KJ Martin said he can use his size and athleticism to help plug the Sixers’ needs at the four and with rebounding. Said he worked all summer tweaking his shot and wants to be consistent from three.

my only request in that everyone is healthy and ready for the playoffs

Please just give us a playoff run where we get through it without injuries

My guy needs the team around him to be better. Anytime he sits, especially in the playoffs, the team can’t hold a lead. I remember watching Jokic vs the Heat in the finals two years ago. He sat and Denver was up 10. He comes back into the game and Denver is still up by that much. Anytime Embiid sat vs NY in the playoffs, they would surge and take a lead.

Him included. Joel, this is YOUR team.. YOU need to be the most consistent of them all! Just do your best at being a positive leader, and let the team follow.

Look I like the sentiment and all, but it’s hard to say you demand consistency when you’re inconsistent yourself.

We never know what we’re going to get from Embiid vs good teams, it’s a bit random. We know he’s dunking on the shit ones, but the consistency in the playoffs + big regular season games isn’t there for him to be demanding it.
