I don't like this move for either side in terms of contending. Knicks only got Kat, mainly for the center position, because Robinson is injury prone. And Wolves got rid of Towns mainly to get off his massive contract.
Both are choke artists, so in my opinion, this doesn't push them higher in the West or East. They just swapped the same players 🤷♂️
The T wolves will take a major step back with Randle ruining their offense.
Randle is underrated at this point, this can end up being better for the Wolves. they added depth and a pick
KAT for Randle is a good move but losing Dante will hurt their chances of making the finals.
This move is iffy. If the wolves would have had one more year they would have easily cone out of the west this year.

I think ppl overthinking this one. That pick and pop between JB and Kat is gonna cause issues for the East. Kat also adds 3 point shooting and defense. Donte was a big loss but clearly the Knicks know what they’re doing… ppl thought we were crazy for signing Brunson…. And even the og trade we got hate… gotta wait and see.

Knicks are now much more injury prone and worse at defense and they also are considerably softer as a whole . If that's not bad enough now you get a considerably LESS productive Bridges Hart and Brunson. Leon destroyed the team .

Had Mitch not been injured coming into this season this trade would’ve never happened.. we need a center and he’s a stretch big..I’m going to miss DD that’s it.. however Big KAT ain’t no scrub.. he will fit and as far as toughness he’ll adapt to the Knick tough nose culture for sure.

How are you saying that Randle is a net negative on defense? Have you ever watched him play? He defends multiple positions well.
The Timberwolves have two guys who can't stretch the floor now. How will this help Edwards out? Randle is a guy who loves to iso a lot, but teams can patrol the paint against Minnesota and force them to shoot more to win.
The wolves needed another person other than ANT who can generate their own offense which Randle provides. Randle also shoots 53% from corner 3s which the wolves take often because of defenses trying to overload the strong side on ANT. Divincenzo takes pressure off of dillingham having to fill an important role immediately and takes pressure off of Conley defensively. With the additions of Divincenzo, Ingles, and Dillingham, the wolves will still have better 3point shooting than last year and should still be able to maintain a top 5 defense.
Randle is by far a better player at $28 mill compare to Kat at $49 mill…period!!

This trade was only due to Towns' contract and the second apron. It has little to do with either player's abilities. Why can't you see this? The second apron is real. Also, the Detroit pick will likely become a nothing second rounder, due to protections.
Please forget DiVicenzo. He's decent, nothing more. He is not the lynchpin of this trade. It's about money, money, money. It all started when they traded for Gobert. It sucks that Gobert stays and Towns goes.

A whole lot of trades are We Wanted To Do SOMETHING, And This Was What We Were Able To Do. And that's what this trade feels like to me. I really don't feel like this makes the Knicks better, all in all, but I'm not sure if it makes them worse, except for how much they've given up for recent trades. They NEED this lineup to work. The Wolves, eh, they've got more work to do, now, before I can bother to say much about their end of it.

You wanna know why this happened. Kat was a top 30 player making top five money and the randles player option lines up with Rudy naz and naw next season. Plus kat isn’t that better than Randle and dd. There’s a bunch of other reasons but I’ll let you figure it out.

Kat was a negative asset literally last year. The reason the wolves have to get rid of him is the reason he’s not valuable in a trade. No one wants to pay a 30yo center whose been hurt a lot making top 5 money for a top 30 player who will decline before that.
