That’s not something you want to hear from a star player joining a new org lol

Video from his wife mentioned they wanted out of NY and living in a condo life with kids.

MN they can be in the city, but a nice house too, or just a little ways out and a really nice house too.

When you got **kids** the ability to go outside and be in your yard is really nice. I spent time with some in-laws who have a gorgeous house in Chicago. It’s amazing, but after a few days no matter how big and nice the house, you’re still stuck inside a house with your kids… that’s a little horrible no matter what. Sending / taking the kids outside to blow off steam is pretty nice, even in the winter.

Well that’s how you build chemistry lol yeah this is a bad place to be but there is worse out there

  4. Dymatizeee

Yeah he coulda ended up on the Wizards 😭

  5. Dull_Counter7624

He got traded to a contender in a pretty nice state, literally the only negative is cold winters and that’s not exclusive to Minnesota. Could be way way worse.

  6. GrantWilliamsDinners

What was the context/question? That seems like an important missing piece. Video started without that.

  7. pichukirby

Y’all overreacting to a comment made jokingly. Could just be him being ironic.

  8. rmccarthy10

It’s cold there and there’s 1000x less culture than NY… is that a secret?

This is 2024… do we need to care about feelings still or can people speak truth ?

It’s funny that Minnesota’s board is filled with all the positives things he said. And the nba board has the one comment that could be seen as negative.

  10. angel2timez

lol he’s not allowed to be sad about New York? That’s what he’s referencing when he says this. I’m sure the wolves and his teammates know that too

  11. Unp0pularS0lutions

    Could’ve been Los Angeles 🙂‍↔️

  12. JaderMcDanersStan

Context is they asked him a question about being traded from one contender to another contender. So he was saying it could be a lot worse.

  13. SenorSolAdmirador

Resounding positivity. “hey, at least it’s not North Korea”

  14. Nidaime33

“It’s not good, but at least it’s not bad either.”

If you’re a regular person and cold is not a deal-breaker, Minnesota is a top-tier state. If you have fuck you money, yeah I would probably want to live in my little ultra-rich enclave in a place with better weather.

  16. FaphandZamasu23

It could’ve been worse is so true
Randle could’ve been raised as a Chicago white Sox fan

  17. NappyIndy317

This is not an insult in our community. This is a midwestern badge of honor!

  18. Joe_ButtHead

This sub should just be renamed to city wars or r/samegrassbutgreener with how much everyone fights about quality of life in the metros lol…

  19. epicfumble

Never been there but it seems everyone that goes to Cleveland comes back angry

  20. OG_Tater

Somehow as a Cavs fan I think she was talking about Cleveland

  21. GB01101993

Yo. I been on vacation for over a week lol I just now realized this happened and that KAT is a knick

  22. bailaoban

I actually think the Twin Cities is a great place for JR to land. A little Midwest Nice will be great for his mental health.

  23. chazriverstone

Have people lost all critical thinking abilities? This was a light-hearted joke about being grateful to get traded to a contender in a nice city – you can hear people laughing after he said it. Some you could get a job working for ESPN the way you take things like this out of context

  24. geneticeffects

Aside from the worst days of winter and the traffic, there isn’t much bad to say about the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Lovely people, as well.

  25. CabbageStockExchange

I went to the University of Minnesota and honestly I quite liked the state. Underrated spot to visit imo

  26. browndude10

bro about to be flipped for someone else

  27. Total_Ad9942

Am I so jaded as a Hornets fan that I felt a shot without an actual shot? 😂

  28. I’ll feel bad for professional athletes when the franchises are in Clovis, NM; Altus, OK; Laughlin, TX; etc.

  29. blacksoxing

Hey OP, could you give us the 10 seconds before that answer? You know, the actual question that was asked? Just wondering as I got a big feeling that you’re actually committing **misinformation** with your perfectly timed snippet which has caused a sub in the past hour to react negatively towards both Julius Randle & Minnesota WHILE now grouping in other cities.

This is exactly what’s wrong with social media: we only see or hear one piece of the story and are quick to react. No vet such as Randle would react in THIS fashion with the background of his new team inches away from him. Come on
