Miami Heat Training Camp Winners & Losers Ft. Nikola Jovic, Dru Smith & Josh Richardson

Miami Heat training camp wrapped up over the weekend and today’s Heat YouTube video breaks down the Miami Heat winners and losers from training camp before the NBA Preseason. The Heat have their red, white, and pink game tonight prior to Heat vs. Hornets preseason game 1. Nikola Jovic looks to be in the Miami Heat starting lineup alongside Terry Rozier, Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo. This is the starting lineup last season when the Heat injury news was nonexistent. Josh Richardson is a loser due to his shoulder injury, and two-way player Dru Smith feels like a Heat winner after he acted as the backup point guard at the Miami Heat scrimmages.

Kevin Love on the Miami Heat offense:
“So I think we want to use our pace more, get more shots at the rim. We’re not going to totally get rid of those contested or longer range twos, but we certainly want to run for more layups and get easy shots and get to the three-throw line. Just generate a lot of threes for this team, easy looks.”

  1. Im hoping Bam is eventually put at PF and Kelel at center. Jovic at PF means Bam stays at Center. Unless Jovic is killing it, and not average at PF then I'll be a happy fan.

  2. JRich knows that offense better than a lot of the guys. Also, he's great on defense and doesn't mind not getting his shots up, Experienced rules all, tight games, trust and believe Jrich will be in the mix down the stretch

  3. I think Josh Richardson takes Burks spot as the backup pg. If Burks plays well tho then Josh is gonna have to wait for his turn to step up if someone gets injured in my opinion

  4. Rating 4. Team can’t guard anyone nor can they score on anyone. The only mismatch we have is Jimmy because bam is too busy covering for everyone else. Asking Jovic to out play his contract is too much.

  5. No one on Miami has a post game on offense. Bam too small at center to dominate on the post. Hes a big body but he’s short. Smh heat said the same thing last year about the offense. You have to have pressure to create easy looks. Teams ain’t doubling no one but Jimmy. Ain’t going to work
