  1. Sure Greg, the Grizzles use the number 9 draft pick to select an 18 minute per game player and they are happy with that.

  2. Nah. Rest of team needs to get used to having a giant on the court. Edey coulda easily had 11-15 points if the passers realized he has a higher percentage shot when in rotation than an ok-ish guy behind the line

  3. One of the fouls was a moving screen which I watched at 0.25 and is barely a foul if at all and a box out foul…not stuff to be that worried about…he is still blocking and rebounding largely without fouling…Edey is going to be an elite role player in the sense of rebounding blocking who will get a consistent 10 PPG which is what the grizzles need

  4. This be my problem with Greg.. like how are you going to make this big of a conclusion off of one pre season game. As much as Edey has to get use to NBA reffing refs have to get use to reffing Edey. And then he says dumb stuff like he didn’t get blocks at Purdue. Im tired of them baiting Purdue fans and making these types of videos because they see one or two tweets from goofy ass fans and make it seem like it’s the whole fan base and make whole videos low key trashing the whole fan base.

  5. as an avid edey hater in college he’s gonna be fine in the nba, foul trouble will be a concern but if he gets that under control he’s gonna win roty

  6. How lucky for PU and Edey that fouls in the NBA aren’t fouls in college! Oh wait, they are…

  7. We don’t care if Edey fouls. He’s only going to play 20-25 minutes per game. Gone head and rack them up, he has 6 for a reason.

  8. Dalton Kennect might disagree w/ your assessment that Edey can’t block shots. Also everything else Greg said was ridiculous.

  9. Greg just says anything 🙄 😒. When the Grizzlies are healthy nobody is playing 30 minutes.

  10. Memphis DOESN'T need Edey to play no damn 30 minutes. All we need Edey to do is REBOUND, and SET GOOD SCREENS. That's it. It's not rocket science. Also, Jaren did not play. Edey will take what's given to him and take shots within the flow of the offense WHICH HE DID. He also did post touch. You cannot make absurd assumptions off one freakin game my dude.

  11. I think his role on defense will be far different at Memphis. He was so important at Purdue, they had him play very conservatively on D. In Memphis, he can be far more aggressive.

  12. Just like college Edey will figure out what to challenge and what to let go. He's going to adjust as he learns and plays more in the NBA.

  13. There’s no reason why offense doesn’t gothrough Ja even if Zach plays 30-35 minutes per game. Zach is there primarily for defense, along with screen and dive. They are a better team when he’s on the floor. And Ja wants Zach on the floor.

  14. So this guy thinks they drafted him this high just to play 18 min a game?!?! Talk about foul trouble….Jaren Jackson can't stay outa foul trouble and been foul prone his whole nba career. Memphis will underachieve if they don't let Edey get some post touches. Not saying he needs to be force fed, but he should get some post touches because he is that good.

  15. One game I don’t think you can judge fouling. That said yes he picked up 5 fouls, a couple are just him having to learn how physical he can be, I went to the game and he was really banging and be physical, so he will remove those, so that’s 2 of the 5, so if he ends with 3 fouls do we care? And he is going to be asked to play 25-30 min, so if he gets 5 fouls every night in 25 min, do you care? I don’t think they do, and I agree they are telling him to go out and play super hard. So I don’t think anything you’re saying is incorrect, he is going to get fouls and he is going to play really hard.

  16. Also agree they are not going to feed the post, but they also missed him wide open on some cuts and dump offs, so I think he will get more touches and points.

  17. Also agree with Purdue fans need to chill, it’s one game, he isn’t the focus on this team, he can be this teams center without being the focus of the offense

  18. It is cool you are following Edey. Taylor Jenkins plays 10 guys a game usually and doesn’t play guys major minutes until the playoffs. It is one reason rookies develop at Memphis. Memphis is playing a new style of offense this year. It will take all the players some time to jell with it. If it flops, later in the season you will see more typical NBA pick and roll offenses. Edey will be fine. All the Grizzlies’ players will be adjusting, not just Edey. The new offense is fast and with a lot of movement. JJJ will be the only big to get 30 minutes a game. You will need to follow the process not a single game. Just know it might not look good early on in the season. If they pull it off it will be super cool

  19. Can we throw in the fact that it's the NBA and he's a rookie and the referees are going to try to show him an over exaggerate his movement so that he understands how to play the type of fouling the NBA wants or doesn't want. Look at what they did to Darren Jackson. How many? Ticky tack barely fouls, but they were so focused on him playing the way they wanted him to play in the NBA as opposed to worrying about his size and ability. I think it would definitely be different if he came out during the mutombo years where Biggs could play differently, but now they're so Rudy gobert-ish so they're going to call every ticky tack I think. So I'd say he qualifies for about three of the five fouls

  20. Now I do think my man has somewhat of a right idea that yeah they probably want Zach ultimately to maybe get to 25 minutes because you have you know other players and they want him to run so much. But yeah you want him to be impactful for 25 minutes but I think that Memphis does want to send a message to the rest of the league like this is somebody you're going to have to deal with and you know initially they're going to try to deal with him by getting the reps involved. Hey ref look he's doing this hey rap look he's doing that. Pat, it's preseason game number one tonight's preseason game number two. Let's see what that looks like right now. The biggest worry for us is making sure we have a priest on standby, some rosary beads and a candle to make sure nobody freaking gets hurt
