Needs to become more consistent before taking this many off balance shots that are hard to make.

I dot understand why he settles for those awful 3s instead of just attack attack attack.

Patrick chewing said do you practice that shot?

My team’s 20 year old point guard didn’t have a good pre season game? That’s it, I’ve seen enough. We must tear everything down to the studs again.

Just to clarify, scoots gonna be fine.

Granted this is preseason so it’s not like the Clippers are going to really be trying on defense, but he seems like he can get to his spots really well but the decision making isn’t there. It’s not great that at the start of year 2 he still needs to work on his decision making and doesn’t look like he has made progress with his 3 point shooting, but he is so fluid and quick with a really stout frame that there is still a lot to like there.

He has all the physical tools to be a Deron Williams, rich man’s Mike Conley, or a poor man’s Chris Paul. He probably won’t be a franchise player like Dame, but he certainly can be a good-great point guard. For this season, I am more concerned with Shaedon Sharpe’s growth than I am with Scoot. But I will be panicking if he has a similar highlight package next year.

You guys serious? 1 preseason game his 2nd year and this level of doomsday shit is embarrassing.

He needs to balance his body more on some of those jumpshots.

Then, he needs to angle his body correctly when attacking. Easier said than done, sure, but it’s not just about speeding to the rim. Speeding gets you there, angling and contorting your body is how you finish.

It’s why Roy was so good at that and why Dame suddenly improved dramatically at finishing to the point where he became a 27ppg superstar the moment he became proficient at it. Scoot is either moving too fast for his brain to process what he needs to adjust to or he’s not thinking about it at all.

If he’s not showing signs of improvement by ASB, he’s definitely on bust watchlist.

We will know for sure in 3-5 years

About half of his shots were the correct shots to take, but damn he ain’t Dame on those 3s…I think I’d rather see more aggression on his drive attempts instead of him trying to be cute with it.

The 3s weren’t missing too badly. I’m not worried about that. If he doesn’t shoot and prove he can make open 3s, he’ll never have space to penetrate, as defenders will sag 6 feet off of him.

It’s the poor touch around the rim that is concerning.

He will flourish if he can accept not being a number 1 or 2 option.
