This feels like a possible MIP season for Lively, he showed us so much potential already as a rookie.
I want to see him lean into that distributor role with Luka as primary playmaker, or Kyrie if they’re staggering their minutes.
Maybe he can even learn some of that advanced pass-faking from Luka, make that interior game a little easier on himself. Even though they play different positions, there could be a good mentor/protege connection there.
You hit the nail on the head on everything regarding the Mavs missing a center and everything with Lively.
I also agree that Lively needs to improve his interior scoring, more than 3pt shooting because in general, you have a higher chance to make a layup than shoot a 3-pointer.
And consistency is very hard to beat
