Probably not entirely true, but hopefully the NBA will get rid of back to backs eventually

  2. DirtyKarma

Fine with it. Just be healthy for postseason when back to backs don’t exist

  3. DanM142

I think that’s fine, but I hope he plays most other games when he can. Need for this new team to play together.

  4. Eagle_215

I literally dont care. Just get us into the playoffs, then let him play his heart out.

  5. ramadeez

At this point I prefer him to play 30 regular season games just so he makes it to playoffs

  6. Basic-Heron-3206

I dont believe it but it would be good if true. I hate b2bs with a passion

  7. JD_Unlimited

Completely fine with it, he always looked gassed on a back to back anyway.

I don’t care how much rest anyone gets, as long as we can just have 1 fully healthy postseason run

  8. Dazzling-Slide8288

Smart. The season is too long and this is an NBA greed problem.

  9. DizzyDeanAndTheGang

Whatever keeps him healthy for the playoffs

  10. brokenoreo

reality is no one’s legacy is cemented in the regular season. all you need is one run, do absolutely whatever it takes to just get that one run.

  11. Deep_Egg1442

What does he gotta play back to backs for

  12. Different-Ad9986

Nooooo he has to play vs the bucks and then vs the hawks two days laterrrrrr 😫

*kidding, rest up and let the Drummond/Yabussy/oubre lineup go wild

  13. dishwasher_mayhem

Idc as long as he’s healthy and fit for the playoffs.

  14. PoppaJMoney

I love it. This team is going to sleep walk to 50 wins…. He needs to be up and ready for games in May…. Not January

  15. PepperWoodcraft

He’ll still be injured for the playoffs

  16. DeadxSong

How many games did we scrape together wins while he was on IL? An embiid rest day isn’t a guaranteed loss anymore with a solid roster around him. And how many games were we “comfortably” in the playoffs last year? We coukld afford to drop some more games.

I don’t care how many games we win in the regular season, as long as we’ve got our dancing shoes laced up for the ball. If that means embiid sits 60% of the season to be ready to go come playoffs, let’s do it.

Look at the phillies. No one will be talking about how great of a spring/early summer there was when we got knocked out by the mutts in the NLDS. Let’s save it for when it actualyl matters.

I would get the schedule find a path to play 65 choose which back to backs to cross off immediately and cut of other high risk games per analytics.

If he makes it to 65 awesome if not we all know a healthy Post season is more valuable than anything.

  18. clickstops

Get him 55-65 games healthy to gel with the new squad and let him enter the playoffs healthy. Who cares how that happens.

  19. Gold_Insurance9511

Don’t care whatsoever. If it prolongs his health and career and increases his chances to be healthy in playoffs? I’m all for it! Our team is stacked!

  20. LuckyCulture7

Kawhi didn’t play back to backs in the Toronto championship year and then played all 24 games in play offs. It was a different team and a different eastern conference, but it worked.

  21. xychosis

I hate B2Bs anyway and hope the NBA would just ditch them.

Besides, rather a healthy Joel in the playoffs than have him go at 65% again like seemingly every other year.

  22. mberko21

Apparently the larger quote is more that they’ll be smart about it. If the back to back are against two teams like bucks and Knicks he wants to play. So maybe in those cases he’d miss a few games beforehand for extra rest

  23. Equivalent_Way_5026

The season should be like 20 games shorter than it is and there should never be back to backs. Playoff hype dies basically every year due to so many injuries of key players.

  24. jawntothefuture

Good fuck it. Our boy needs to be healthy
