Moody’s development extends beyond just becoming more confident shooting the ball. He’s shown throughout this preseason that he’s turned himself into a 3 level scorer that can also get to the line. He’s hit buckets at all 3 levels in 4 of their 5 games and gotten to the line in all 5.

We need more Moody propaganda (and sent to Kerr)

One thing for sure is Moody is determined to be a key piece of this team for years. Regardless of how this season plays out minutes or position wise I expect we extend him on a cheap deal multiple years and by next season he will be a face of this team. He’s built for it. Been rooting for him since his first Moodyism quotes after being drafted. Hype for him and JK to take off.

As much as I am rooting for him, I dont necessarily think he’s a three level scorer.

He excels when he cuts or attack a closeout or catch-and-shoot. But he hasn’t shown consistently that he can be given the ball and beat his defender via iso. A three level scorer is someone like Steph or Kyrie who can do all of those I mentioned, but most importantly, someone you can throw the ball with 6 seconds remaining and expect a basket. He was never like that in college as well.

I’d argue that he has been a 3 level scorer since day 1. I’m a little disappointed that people havent recognized that. Part of the reason i was so high on him since his rookie season was because of what he demonstrated in the preseason + gleague games. He had several 20+ games (including 30 pt games) in which he showed an ability to hit the 3, midrange, and drive strong to the rim and finish thru contact. He was also a good free throw shooter from the jump. I’ve spoken often about his ability to “bulldoze” his way to the rim using his raw strength (giving the defender a shoulder bump or a slight forearm to get space for the lay-in). He did that day 1, and he still does it today, and we know he can hit the 3 and 20 footer. That ability to score inside out or outside in has always been there.

I think people now are just paying attn to him as a result of all this moody talk, which really began last year when kerr was questioned about his playing time. I said it before… this kid could avg 20+ easily if given the minutes and the shots that klay got. If he aint hitting his jumpers, best believe he’s getting to the line 8-10 times a game. That’s a real asset that should be utilized on a team where there isnt a clear second scorer. Need a guy who can get those easy buckets or easy points (i.e. free throws). Moody can give you that…

For all the doubters out there, just revisit his games his rookie year. It’s all over youtube for you as a reminder that this kid has been doing it since day 1. Dont call me a stan. I just recognize game.

I think Moody’s had a hard time getting minutes because he’s not good as a connector. Now that he’s improved his play finishing this much that’s a huge step.

It’s preseason, but that first step looks very good.

Been saying for it a few years now. Moody is as good as Trey Murphy but hasn’t been given minutes, but when he did, his numbers translated really well to Murphy’s.

Steinmetz on 95.7 the game literally yesterday said he couldn’t do any of this. like dude doesn’t even watch games

  9. Wiggins is expendable. Should be scouting for a big man

I hate when this sub complements a player getting a chance by saying they developed therefore they got a chance. Moody in Arkansas was one of the best slashers in College basketball. He basically lived at the FT line. He had like 6 attempts a game which is crazy high for a wing in college. Be was only an above average shooter. That’s not why he was mocked in the lottery.

I feel like every post I see from warriors subreddit is about moody. Granted I’m not scrolling through it but on my feed it seems like all of them

This is a straight up mixtape man. Im really hoping he continues this form throughout the season.

Imho, basketball, especially at this level, is so mental. Whenever I watch NBA players talk about what their actual assignments are, it’s really complex/intense. And guys gotta have that willingness to really put in the work to learn everything. But, they also need that talent to translate what they learn onto the court. I believe in Moody because I think he has the ethic and ability and I think this is the year we see all that come together on the Warriors.
