Why the Dallas Mavericks Will Win the West Again

Why the Dallas Mavericks Will Win the West Again

The Dallas Mavericks made an incredible run to the NBA Finals a season ago. But, did they get even better this year? The additions of Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall and Quentin Grimes is going to unlock things for Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford look poised to hold down the center position for years to come. This team is locked and loaded folks and you should be excited.

  1. Still a lot of doubters out there, at this point I just hope they win so they prove people wrong!

  2. We lost a prime time Derreck Jones Jr for a questionable over the hill guy that doesn't really need any more rings. Seems to me Jones was clutch throughout the playoffs, rock solid.

  3. Feels like the first time in a while that the Mavs head into a season with what appears to be almost two full units of serviceable players. Barring injuries and if JKidd figures it out it is really looking promising.

  4. Slightly biased made a career from glazing Luka Doncic and the Mavs and I'm so here for it! Mavs 2025 champs baby!

  5. This team is legitimately 14 deep no bs!! Full of two way players that can attack close outs. Not a bunch of Bullocks,Finney Smiths,Grant Williams, and Maxi’s!! These guys can put the ball on the floor and attack close outs! It’s a nightmare for defenses. Now our two headed Center monsters have added muscle and post moves!!😮

Oh and Kessler Edwards is on a two way and has played real NBA mins with Kyrie on the Nets and also played with the Kings. He’s a 6”7 3&D wing who has a sprained ankle but the team is high on him.

When has the best player in the world had this much support in his career? We seen what he could do with far less talent! Let’s run it back and finish it this time. This is the 1st official year of 77’s prime LFG!!

  6. I was just saying to myself on the treadmill today a slightly biased video would be lovely while I’m dying but I had already watched all your others so I rewatched the DLive one. Thanks for uploading this for me tho I appreciate it!!!!!

  7. Bruh you're not excited because I'm excited 😂… I've been Mavs Debating all off-season 24-7. I bought my gf Luka 3's and make her wear them while watching me Mavs Debate.

  8. This was one of the best videos I've seen since the Pre-Season approached. Very enjoyable and well thought out analysis.

  9. no they wont they will do worse this year not equal or better to last year. definite worst. Heres why yes offensive is much stronger but defence is much weaker. also other teams in the west have gotten even stronger so it will be tougher this year.

  10. The Mavs got………………….slightly better (no pun inhtended), but OKC got much better

  11. I absolutely cannot wait for the first game that Luka, Kyrie, and Klay start fully clicking together and get hot at the same time. Luka is a top 2 (1) player on the planet about to enter his prime and it’s pretty much an annual thing now for him to have one of the most mind boggling performances in the history of the league on a random night in December or January. Kyrie is still good for 25/5/5 on 40/50/90. Even if Klay is washed if he can just shoot decent from 3 it will open up so much for this team. Plus he might legitimately have better chemistry passing to rolling bigs than Kyrie does and we have 48 minutes of that between Lively and Gafford… genuinely how do you stop that if they’re all in the zone and hitting shots?

People think we have no defense but one thing Kidd has proven to me over and over again at this point is that he can coach a roster to a really good defense just based off team scheming as long as everyone is buying in and playing with energy. Naji and Grimes are absolutely the perfect players for that and I think are going to surprise a lot of people who expect us to just be some offense only roster. The starting lineup will be drawing the most attention but I have a feeling that the most important one will be Luka or Kyrie with Grimes, Klay, PJ, and Lively/Gafford. It’s a great blend of shot making, defense, shooting, and size. I

consistency from Klay, injury, and Kidd over experimenting are definitely concerns. But this team is also going to have some absolutely absurd performances this year. If they manage to catch the same vibe/chemistry as the end of last year? They’re going to absolutely shred through lots of teams’ regular season defenses.
