  1. I said
In 4 or five years a be back
    we a be back…
Honestly if we play good basketball this year…
    It could be ring time…

  2. with the influx of Spurs content on YT, I still stay loyal to TSR, dude has been with us thru the abyss!

  3. Wesley has a future on this team as a backup playmaker who comes in and brings defensive moxie. Spurs have had this type of player before on their contending teams with guys like Corey Joseph and DJ's early years. A lot will depend on how the balls bounce regarding the draft lottery. If the Spurs get a chance to sneak into the Top 6 with either their pick or Atlanta's, and the chance is there to draft either Nolan Traore or Dylan Harper, then I see a scenario where they just let Tre Jones walk into FA and keep Wesley on a cheap deal to be a backup guard. However, no matter what happens, I don't see a scenario where Malaki is on this team. He's the odd man out and will continue to be, especially once Castle starts playing regular rotation minutes. Either salary filler in a trade or they just let him walk. That's how it's going to be and if this were Vegas, I'd put my money on it.

  4. Minix to stay! Even more of a sign that Malaki will likely end up somewhere in the longterm. Technically both Julian AND Minnix can absorb all those minutes easily. If the Spurs could develop Minnix into a Sam Hauser type, he'd be a steal.

  5. I always thought it was hilarious people thought the Spurs wont pick up the options on Malakai or Wesley

  6. I don’t hate Jeramie but I don’t see him as an important part of a championship build.

  7. If there are no questions about keeping Wemby and Sochan, the Spurs could have hesitated to keep Branham and Wesley as it is blocking two spots and around 10M$ for next year.
However the current active cap for 2025/2026 is 126M$ for a maximum cap of 154M$ and a first apron at 193M$. Even if they want to cut one of the two guys next year, it will bring dead cap for only less than 5M$.
According to some scouts, Wesley has more potential than Branham because his defense is solid and he has shown some offensive playmaking. His Free Throws percentage is very low and doesn't bring some hope that the shooting capabilities will develop well. I don't think that he has the potential to be a NBA roleplayer after his rookie contract.
Branham is a terrible defender but he could develop some shooting capabilities during the last two years of his rookie contract (his FT percentage is 87% last year). I think that he has more chances to be cut at the end of this season if his shoot is still not reliable and if the Spurs need some spots to bring some rookies and some vets during next summer. The only future I see for him in NBA is a catch&shoot player but he needs to reach 38/39% at 3 this year.

For the last two-way, the Spurs have more needs in the frontcourt than in the backcourt (Wesley and Branham will take the last available minutes). It should go to Minix.

  8. Slight edge to Minix over Bouyea…Flynn I expected to show out with his shooting or maybe see a flash of how he got his game high 50 eh.

  9. Branham will be used in a trade during the year. Jones will also be traded so Blake is Castle's future b/u PG. You can't teach speed and hounding D, which Blake has.

  10. Collins-Keldon-Jones-Branham-Bassey are all future trades to be made for the all star SF and #2 scorer next to VW. Vassell is a #3 scorer. But if Vassell can't stay on the court, then he has more trade value than Johnson.
