Come on Marcel… that title is misleading. It suggests he has already signed an extension!

  2. One of my homies from Australia gets to go to the home opener, which is his birthday and it’ll be his first NBA game but he’s a Spurs fan.

  3. They definitely should keep him! He’s going to be super important for the Mavs this season. I think 41 mil sounds like a reasonable deal.

Trading him would be a mistake. If anyone gets traded at the deadline I think it should be Dinwiddie if he continues to play like he did in the pre season

  4. My mindset about player trades for the supporting guys: I don't "miss" anybody, if they got traded, there was a good reason for that. I mean if it was someone like Luka or Kyrie that would be different — or even Gafford, PJ, Lively.

But players like Josh Green, THJ, DJJ, Exum, Kleber… they gotta really step up on all levels for me to truly be sad they're gone. For instance with DJJ, he was very athletic, nice dunks, nice defense, but shot horribly. Same thing for all the other names, they have major deficiencies that make it hard for me to really miss them if they get traded, because it was those defects that cost Mavs the chip last year. The role players didn't show up when we needed them the most in the finals.

Can the new pieces step up when Mavs need them most? Only time will tell.

  5. The Mavs didn’t appear to offer an extension to Jalen Brunson before the final year of his rookie deal. Huge mistake. Maybe the team is smarter now? Given the chance, couldn’t Grimes be considered similar in athleticism and skill to Desmond Bane?

  6. For any Grimes doubters out there, watch that clip of Quentin clamping up Jimmy Butler in the clutch. Mind you, he just injured his leg the play before and still stopped him in a high pressure stituation.

  7. To be honest you’re way too hunky dory. Josh Green was an all out miss who never ever contributed to any meaningful wins. And what are you gauging Grimes off of, preseason? Pump your brakes man, pump your brakes. Let Grimes prove himself.

  8. I'm fine with not rushing this. I'm not yet sold that he's an upgrade over Josh Green, he's roughly equivalent if he can return to form. I've learned to be leery of guys with his type of injury history over the years, too. On the other hand a Josh Greenish deal shouldn't be to difficult to trade off even if it doesn't work out so maybe they should just go ahead

  9. I liked Josh Green and wanted him to become more consistent but from a small window it appears Grimes is more mentally tough.

  10. I believe Grimes is a smart man he is aware of the old saying "good play = good pay" so stand back and watch him earn a good pay!

  11. I been saying since the start of last season. I was watching a Knicks game and Grimes stood out like a sore thumb. I was a hooper. I can tell you that that man is it. Very high potential to be a josh hart type but with a better bag and shooter.
