Dallas Mavericks News: The Mavs have signed Jaden Hardy to a contract extension! Grimes and the Mavericks agreed to a 3-year, $18 million contract extension on the eve of the 2024-25 NBA Season. The second-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Mavs lock up Hardy for the foreseeable future. The Mavs could not come to an agreement with Quentin Grimes, who they acquired in the Tim Hardaway trade during the 2024 NBA offseason. Mavericks trade rumors surrounding Grimes will not stop though, as Grimes can now be used as a valuable trade chip like Josh Green was last season, who was used to facilitate the 6-team Klay Thompson trade. Thank goodness… BTW, Hardy was REALLY good in the playoffs and showed he can play when the light are bright. Nico learned from his Brunson and experience.

Congrats to Hardy, certainly think he earned this. A 3 year deal fits nicely with Luka & Irving contracts. 3 years of significant playing time he might be ready to step in as Irving in 3 years will be nearing his retirement. Hardy is a scorer, if he can improve his D and his ball handling, he certainly has the potential to shine. With SD playing poorly and Exum hurt big opportunity for Grimes, Hardy & Gortman. Let's Go Mavs.
Any question on who is the facilitator off the bench has now been put to bed. I’ve said it the plan was to shelf Hardy so his value is low so they can sign him to a low ball contract for multiple years then they will play the wheels off of him, in three years Kyrie will be retired. And Hardy will get a massive contract. It’s all part of Harrison’s big plan.
