Cam Thomas led all scorers with 36 points (14-27 FG), along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals for the Nets in the losing effort. The Hawks improve to 1-0 on the season, while the Nets fall to 0-1.

An opening night win, maybe not the prettiest game but the hawks got it done fortunately. There were several great things but also things we can work on but it’s always good to start off with a win. Of course the star of the show Trae was masterful. You can just tell that the team needed him out there for the offense to produce, what a game from him. How about Dyson, a defensive BEAST, he’s the defensive piece we have been missing, just amazing game for him. Jalen looked nice, of course his athleticism and attack was great to watch, although just want him to be more aggressive and to be able to create offense when trae is off the floor. Vit was really a nice ball handler off the bench, I know it seems like Zacc struggled but he will be fine, just need some better looks for him. How about Onyeka though, what a performance off the bench. Career high and just clutch winning plays after winning plays, shoutout to him. Overall, we got a lot of things to clean up if we want to beat Charlotte, free throws of course but it’s something to build upon, still always a win is a win in this league. Charlotte visits next, let’s go hawks #TrueToAtlanta
