They Celtics showed they are the just as good as if not better than four months ago. The chip is off their shoulders now, so this could be their best season with this core.
'As long as they stay healthy' is the biggest variable, imo. The core is too important, lose one or two to injury and they can't run their system.
We also saw thar they still aren't a 'clutch' team, as they never were, missing all those threes when the record was on the line. They weren't even all that clutch last year, but they didn't need to be, because they were dominant.

If JT shoots 40% from 3โs this season, he will be the MVP easily, because of his good-to-very good abilities to impact the game in many other ways (play making, assists, rebounding, defense, durability, etc.).
The Knicks shot 55% for the game, the Celtics missed everything in the final 8Minutes and still won by over 20. This means you cannot beat the math. 3s beat 2s and you can not say anymore that it is not sustainable because they won the chip doing that and got better doing it in the offseason.

Mazzulla Ball has thrived in the NBA for 2 seasons. No exaggeration, what I saw from Jayson Tatum last night made me emotional. I could not think of a more perfect way to start the season following the discourse around him during his CHAMPIONSHIP summer. As a Celtics fan, Iโve never seen โgoatโ potential from JT, but one thing most of the greats have in common was their drive to silence the critics. I am fearful(for the rest of the league) that this summer may have unleashed a true monster. Jokic is the clear frontrunner as of now, but I am hopeful that Jayson Tatum can start working on his case for the best player of the 2020s. Long way to go, but I think the narrative around JT was he is as good as heโs gonna get, and Iโm just here to say that it looks like we might have another leap to deal with๐
