Should You Have Faith In These Nuggets?

Should You Have Faith In These Nuggets?

Should you have faith in these Nuggets? Denver falls to 0-2 before a road trip. Joker scores 41 but it’s not enough, at home, to the Clippers?! The bench can’t get worse… can it? Plus, a question of how much trust this team has earned with Matt Moore and Ryan Blackburn of Mile High Sports.

  1. Fire Booth into the Sun for sure! There's no point firing Malone. Has he coached great? No, but it's really all Booth's fault. Westbrook is a veteran minimum player. He's a low risk, high reward play. He could suck in which case they should have another veteran minimum PG to replace him. The fact they don't have another veteran PG is Booth's fault. He wasted multi-year contracts and roster spots on Zeke Naji, Jalen Pickett and Hunter Tyson, none of whom are in the rotation at all. If you give Zeke a 4 year $32m guaranteed contract, then you don't have the cap room to sign another veteran who might actually help them.

  2. Let's not forget that ya it's only 2 losses in a 82 game schedule. But the narrative that's missing is that it's home games we are losing!!! That narrative is being forgotten. I think we lost only 8 home games last season!

  3. It's early….two freakin games!

Some teams get off to quick starts and some catch on later.

    82 games!

I will say the team did look sluggish and uninterested in the preseason but i think you guys have good guys in that locker room and competitive guys.

I did write before the season that Russ would not be great with these particular reserves because he is a high volume/low efficiency player who needs to play most of his minutes with your more efficient players.

Saric, Strawther, and Watson are not the right trio to play with Russ.

Jokic is the better player to play with them because of his efficiency.

MPJ, Strawther, and Gordon would be a better trio to play with Russ, with AG playing small ball five.

Then you can have either Murray or Watson on the floor rather than Jokic.

Plus i understand Coach Malone wants Russ to play the Nugget way but the whole purpose of bringing him there is to take advantage of his speed, pace, athleticism, and play making….

For goodness sakes, bend the system a bit and get the ball to Russ on every rebound and have him push and create some energy!

    Chaotic Russ is good Russ!

There really isn't a reason to have Murray with him in the second unit….if you want to pair Russ and Murray, it's better with the starting group.

Give Russ the second unit and switch Saric out for AG and Murray out for MPJ.

Strawther can play with this group because you have better defenders on the floor with him.

Then it might be smart to have Watson for his athleticism, length, and ability to run the floor.

If you need to play Saric a bit with this group, then switch to a five out system with Saric spacing the floor as a shooter.

Also Coach Malone could have done a better job of feeling out that game because even though Russ wasn't making buckets, he was helping the group that was starting to create some separation and he could have been switched onto Norm in that game.

Anyway, still too early to freak out….😊

  4. As long as they dont lose 80 games they good 😛 But yeah still early on. Hopefully, they pick things up. Jamal and MPJ need to pick it up. Were they even practicing this off-season? If Joker can score 40+ they can or should score 20 at least. If you are getting paid 35-36 million a year, you should do better, at least score 20. Gordon should average 15 pts per game, Jamal 22-25 ppg, MPJ 20 ppg, Braun can average 10-15 ppg, Westbrook should average 8-10ppg, Julian should average 15ppg, Watson should average 10ppg, Saric should average 5-8 ppg.

  5. Stop letting jamal off the hook like matt said its his average game stats we didn’t pay him that contract to stay average we bet on him and he hasnt shown up in 2 games

  6. When Matt Moore chooses to ignore someone, the only way for him to change his opinion is for that guy to become an all-star…

  7. This was all pretty easy to forecast. Everyone got excited when they beat the Lakers but that series was closer than the final result. Murray pulled a couple of winners but apart from that he was awful in the playoffs for a number 2 max player. MPJ isn't consistent enough and the good role players all gone. Nuggets are done.

  8. Everyone got their money and they don't give a fuck, but the worst thing is they are becoming worse as players and dumber as decision makers…How in every other team players get better over time only in Denver get worse especially players that got paid…We have this problem for years now it won't go away…So dont say it's front office these guy don't deliver for the amount of money they got…Shameless scumbags should donate 70% of their money and give their spot to people who want to win…

  9. DN FO push the narrative that Jokic wanted Russ witch is not true even Mike Malone confirmed that during one of his press con..FO wanted to cover up for their disastrously off season by pushing this narrative..DJ may suggested that Russ could help this team and Jokic may agreed to that and that is it ..

But there is nothing to talk about anymore its kind over this season feels like Campaso Bol Bol years it will be a disaster …

Hope Jokic request trade next year FO just destroyed his chances of wining a ring ever again..

  10. I'm not in full out freak out mode, but I also expected this kind of start. I cannot understand how Justin Holiday isn't on a roster, he can't handle 40m a game but he can do 15m most games.

I'll try not to rant but this goes on Malone as much as anyone for refusing to play guys like Zeke who we invested a lot of money into. If Zeke was so bad to Malone he should have fought Booth on it, I still think Zeke goes somewhere with a true backup 5 and he can thrive.

Where is Jamal Murray who just got paid? I was told "have you seen him in those 2 playoff runs" for weeks now and all I'd ask is where is the consistency you need from players paid that much? Murray is giving off Bradley Beal vibes now and its what I feared the most, he just wanted to get paid he hasn't shown he wants to be the best in years. Murray has been out there with the bench for years and they were terrible, Murray can't play with other Bigs than Jokic now, and I just don't see how he is worth more than even KCPs new $25m deal if Jamal is now also a turnstile on defense because Braun is proving his promotion was warranted like I got made fun of all summer for saying.

Prove me wrong Jamal, I'll gladly apologize. Offer is still there for MPJ too, prove me wrong and take contact so you can learn to drive to the rim.

  11. So Matt's take on media and fans is media should always be allowed to be skeptical and ask the hard-hitting questions, but fans should just eat whatever pablum they're served up because the team won a title two years ago? Lol. First of all, the personnel is NOT the same….in a team sport like b-ball where many coaches are only really consistently running 8 or 9 guys out there, even one player departing can have a big effect on a team. Secondly, players can regress even if it's not due to age or injury. They lose motivation, develop bad habits or bad attitudes among a plethora of other things. I think that take says more about Matt and his high value of his own opinions than it does about any kind of media/fans/team dynamics. This hasn't been the same team since they won that championship. Aside from personnel changes, the remaining players have gotten lazy. You could see that last season when there were tons of games where they obviously showed up thinking they could half-ass it 3 quarters and flip a switch in the 4th…which bit them several times. Malone basically came out and said several of them didn't come into the pre-season in good shape (which seems to be a habit with some of them)….so I'd expect a repeat of last season with possibly worse results.
