Thanks guys!
The difference in the second half was obvious – and stupid. They cut out almost all rest for both Cade and Ivey. Cade and Ivey should never be split up. In the second half, coach quit doing it, but in a stupid way. The question is, will he continue the nonsense next game? (we also cut Holland out of the rotation in the second half)
Here is a decent rotation:
Cade, Ivey, Harris, Reed, Duren
bench is Sasser, Beasley, Moore, Holland, Reed / Duren sharing backup center minutes.
The above rotation adds in 3 of our better defensive players, Sasser, Moore Jr, and Reed. And, it puts Holland as a backup power forward, exactly where we need him.
Keep up the good job of paying attention to what is going on in the games. However, look more at the big picture, a bit less on tiny details. Our main problem is a weak front line, one that can't do the job of helpside defense at the hoop. Thompson may not play for a long time. Holland can help here, but we play him a lot on guards out on the perimeter. Stewart, Fontecchio, Harris, Beasley, THJ are of zero help on this. And Reed, our best shot blocker, we have chose not to put in the regular rotation. Duren does some at least. Klintman is injured at the moment, so we have not learned how well he can do in this area; I am optimistic that he can help some.
Without any helpside defense in, we are too often playing off their shooters, stopping drives; but allowing way too many open 3's to go up. And of course, as soon as we do play up, we get burnt on a drive in that goes unopposed at the hoop.
I put out a rotation, in a separate post, to address this. Your comments would be most welcome.
I don't really care who starts, Beasley needs to be on the court to finish. He was cooking!!!!
I know he’s young but I’m concerned about Duren going forward. I don’t think he’s ever gonna be a threat on offense but I expect for him to be elite on defense to be considered a significant player on this team.
We need another center , even as a backup option
Thanks for the show guys!
ron holland is a menace out there. the still low iq notwithstanding.
Cade’s careless TOs I hate are the lazy passes at the top of the key
Are Duren’s rb down because Tobi and the guards are rebounding more?
I really wish pistons fans would stop overreacting to Cade's turnovers. Go look at the league leaders in turnovers over the last 20 years. Its actually a compliment if you are among the league leaders in turnovers. It means that your team trusts you enough to handle the ball that much. Luka led the league in turnovers last year.
