Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans fail to show up AGAIN

Pelicans’ Struggles: Can They Bounce Back? The New Orleans Pelicans face a challenging period after two disappointing losses to the Warriors, even without Steph Curry. Zion Williamson’s unexpected poor performance, scoring just 12 points on 5 of 20 shooting, raises questions about the team’s current form.

Host Jake Madison explores the defensive lapses that have plagued the Pelicans, a team once known for their strong defense under coach Willie Green. Concerns about Green’s ability to motivate and adjust are growing, especially with a crucial 4-game homestand ahead. Despite the setbacks, Jose Alvarado’s shooting resurgence and rookie Jordan Hawkins’ promising development offer glimmers of hope.

  1. Definitely out coached!!! Steve Kerr is great but you don’t need a great coach to stop that simple offense or that foolish defense

  2. Dude the Warriors are a team full of shooters I love how ppl who sit on the couch watching the game who have never played the game always wanna talk about what someone should or should not do…. Draymond made adjustments on Zion the Warriors as a whole made "defensive adjustments" on this team as a whole… The Warriors are just missing Steph and Wiggins… The Pelicans are missing CJ, Dejonte, Herb, Trey, still don't have a true center… This team isn't equipped to win because the others are unable to make the difference outside of BI and Z I think they both were still exhausted from last night where they had to give everything and extra from last night If anything blame coaching and the front office for the team that was put together

  3. Say again, Pels should play high five, not small five. Zion is too short and easy to block.
Missi Murphy/Karlo Zion BI Hertb is the answer to solve problem

  4. Zion just doesn’t work on his game enough. He is in year 6 and has not expanded his game. Zion just plays but doesn’t put in the practice work to expand his game.

  5. Why do we like getting our asses kicked then we react I say the next few games we gonna see a different team.

  6. Zion's gotta ditch that “I’ll just body everyone” mindset. Playing straight-up bully ball only gets you so far in this league. Teams aren’t just letting him muscle his way through anymore—they’ve figured out how to clamp him down, forcing turnovers that are hurting his squad. Time to mix it up, expand his game, and keep ‘em guessing, or else he’s playing right into their hands.

  7. It’s time for the pelicans to trade Zion. It’s so obvious he’s lazy. Stop giving him a pass. Ingram took them to the playoffs without him. But that’s who you want to trade. Really

  8. you can't expect ZION to dribble around 3 guys after bringing it up! WILLIE! PLZ retire today. You are using tools wrong

  9. List three losses what will be the difference between a play in game and then established playoff team. Willie is a terrible coach. He hasn't developed as a play caller.

  10. If we continue to play like this, there is no way we are making the playoffs! I realize that we have a ton of players out due to injuries, but it still looks terrible!

  11. Mr. Erry Dat'rr👈🏾 Thanks Jake! Well……. I called it again🤷🏾‍♂!! Pitiful performance and flat out embarrassing. GS without two starters are far superior than us without 1 starter(Dejounte) and they proved it in the 1st game. we should be 0-5 to be honest. Will I continue to show up in the blender and support my home squad, YES! but this is a low moment. This all boils down to attitude and we have none.

  12. For the last few years, Willie Green has tried to instill a collective defensive mindset and team identity with the Pels. This is the smart thing to do if you are a small market team with owners not prone to breaking the bank, paying luxury taxes, and not having the most talent in the NBA. He succeeds in this endeavor, and the Pels have been one of the best defensive teams in the league for long stretches over the last few years. Their major issue with the Pels over the last few years is the availability of its best players — which at times leads to synergy issues as they really haven't played together a whole lot in their careers. Somehow, some Pels fans believe the Pels issues are one of its main stars — and not shooting enough threes. Maybe the Pels admin thought the same way — so they traded away 3 of their best defenders and their best rebounder. Now they have guys who can score ( but not in a way that is the most potent in the NBA) but lack their most defensive-minded guys ( other than Herb and Alvarado — who can only do so much due to physical limitations ) …GS was able to handily beat the Pels two nights in a row…without the player who has dominated the last 10 years of the NBA….because they have a committed defensive mindset as a team

  13. I hear a lot of ppl criticizing Zion which is fair and true but please don’t let that distract you from BI struggles as well. Kuminga had him CLAMPED UP. For him to be wanting a 40+ mill contract and performing like that is laughable

  14. Where is Zion's killer instinct? He is better than 95% of the league in my opinion. The real problem is Willie Green and he has to be removed and the GM has to go as well. There is a serious chemistry on this team. This city deserves a winner and this team can win with the right coach..

  15. Saints started off 2-0; Pelicans start 2-0.

Saints on a losing streak (6 games); Pelicans on a losing streak (3 games).

Saints have a GM that has a league championship on his resume (Mickey Loomis); Pelicans have a GM that has a league championship on his resume (David Griffin).

Saints have a head coach who is in over his head (Dennis Allen); Pelicans have a head coach who is in over his head (Willie Green).

Both teams have the same leadership at the top (Gayle Benson & Dennis Lauscha).

Both teams are struggling right now with injuries and have fans who are tired of the same thing over and over again.
