I put this one on spo Jimmy and bamā¦thereās no excuse theyāre the highest paid on our team for a reasonā¦you canāt call yourself the best defender in the league and put up a performance like that bam! I fell for the Bam Hype from 2019-2022 then I came to terms with the fact Bam is a very very good role player. Bam doesnāt have the mentality of a superstar or franchise player.
Heās more concerned with being friends with the league than dominating his the league. Hey he got his contract, two Olympics gold medals and is making millions if thatās all he wants out of his career good for him he made it.
I'm surprised that no one is bringing up Duncan quicker. The roster is not better than last year, so Spo has changed the offensive system to focus more on 3's and rim 2's. No midrange. That's Spo recognizing that games can no longer be played like 90's NBA. That means you need your shooters to take and make their 3's at an effective clip. Tyler right now is the teams best 3 point shooter. Followed by Terry. But Duncan is supposed to be the 3 point specialist and his shooting this season (including preseason) has been abysmal. This is killing the second unit because Jaime is not a 3 point shooter. Dru isn't a 3 point shooter. Thomas isn't a 3 point shooter (though he's at least unafraid to take them, unlike Bam). Jimmy only shoots 3's if he needs to (and when he wants to) Niko is a spot up shooter. Alec Burks comes in and makes his 3's efficiently. Even contested. But he's not playing regular minutes (neither is Hayward Highsmith) That means the load for scoring really in the second unit to continue to space the floor for the second unit is Duncs, and in these four games, he has missed wide open looks. That's a big reason why the offense still struggles to get past the 100 point mark.
When it comes to Bam he needs to get up at least 4 to 5 three's per game which he said he was going to do, and now he's suddenly too gun shy to pull the trigger. On top of that he's not attacking the basket, resorting back to fade away jumpers. What I was not expecting is that for someone who wants to be crowned DPOY, he looks a step or two slow on that end. That's uncharacteristic of Bam. And most importantly, that's not the formula for success.
And when it comes to Jimmy, if you are the star as we all rightfully consider you to be, DEMAND the ball. Tyler played an amazing game tonight not just because of his scoring but he was also making the right plays and finding guys for open quality looks. He played like someone who wants to put the team on his back. Same with Terry. Terry didn't get going til the 4th but at least he was aggressive going to the basket and playing D. Bam and Jimmy didn't have that same motor and one is the Star the other is supposed to be the torch barer of Heat culture.
The worse part is hearing those Knicks fan celebrate on our home floor. Not winning at home was supposed to be a point of emphasis this season and right now we're seeing a repeat of last season: can't win at home, terrible 3rd quarters, and can't beat quality teams. If teams see you on the schedule and they're not afraid to play on your court, then Spo has a lot of work to do.

Bam should get traded to Portland for Grant and Picks. Bam is not a star. He's a very good role player that takes up too much of the cap. 11 points against the Knicks is unacceptable. 50 mil a year players find out ways to score. Bam's to soft and passive. 50 mil a year. Another bad Riley decision.
Jimmy can't bring it and he knows it. That's why he sucks against good teams, and why he half assed it the past couple of regular seasons. Don't overthink it. Jimmy is baked. Trade him now for anything (except Andrew Wiggins or any other bad contracts)
Everybody in here saying āplay wareā as if he wouldve been able to guard KAT š. Stop it. Ware is not our saving Grace. Heās got great potential and I would love to see him play but heās not gonna lead us to wins. KAT made Bam his b*tc* tonight and it was embarrassing.
If JJJ earned minutes early into his career last year I don't understand why Ware is getting NO RUNS.
We need size and play a center like Kelel Ware in for 15 mins. Bam is not aggressive and playing chill ball. Same old small ball and new year.
