The Boston Celtics used Robert Williams to employ an unorthodox offensive scheme that goes against traditional NBA thinking in regards to spacing. This scheme allowed the Celtics to establish themselves as the best offense in the entire NBA post-All Star break, and Robert Williams was a key player in their success.
Rob Williams continues to improve defensively, but his offense really doesn’t get the attention that it deserves. He allows Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to work off-ball more effectively, and he alleviates the need for the Celtics to have a true “point guard”.
Despite the suspension of Ime Udoka, the Celtics have the blueprint for offensive success.
