I hate to say this but, I'm a Rockets fan. And even when it looked like Paolo was going to the Rockets and Jabari to the Magic, I still felt Jabari fit better with the Rockets than Paolo.
And it's playing out that way, now. But here's the thing:
Don't get mad at me…..but bi-racial guys are rarely better than full-Blacks talent. They are only inheriting HALF of the Black Dominant Genes. So, of course Jabari Smith is gonna be way better than Paolo in the long run. He got full black genes compared to Paolo' half black genes.
Here's another thing….Paolo' Dad is not Black. If his Father was Black; thats the key factor for a bi-racial guy to be any good. But with only half Black genes, they're still susceptible to body injuries like the typical Whiteboys are….meaning, any injury could reduce them to a shell of themselves.
Look what happened to Blake Griffin. Look how long Klay Thompson missed games. Look at Lavine' limited star potential. These bi-racials are good because they have black Fathers instead of a non-Black father.
Paolo got an Italian or Latino Dad. That's not gonna cut it. His Mom's black genes doesn't go further enough as a Black Father's genes would. So, I highly doubt Paolo turn out a Superstar. He will be an average starter. Not that good, not bad, either. Just average with occasional solid games.
Jabari Smith got his full dominant, black genes. He is gonna be a very good player. Between a Star and a Superstar player.
