The Portland Trail Blazers fell to 0-2 in the preseason with a disjointed, sloppy loss to the Utah Jazz. It’s not panic mode yet but the Blazers looked off in their second game of the preseason which fairly is raising some mildly concerned eyebrows.
On a positive note, Justise Winslow started and play well. He made a compelling case for serious consideration to be the starting small forward on opening night.
Finally, Keon Johnson looks like an NBA rotation player but there might not be room for him in Portland’s rotation. I consider the approach of thee NBA coaches when dissecting why Keon may or may not get a chance to play when the games count.

Mike, can you record these at higher volume level? Iâm always in the fly and just listen on my phone w no Bluetooth or headphones. Even at full volume I canât hear you half the time. Do like most other YouTubers do and record a bit louder plz!
Really like Justice with the starters. His defense and energy is needed with the Dame and Ant backcourt, along with his playmaking ability out of the pick and roll as the roller. Not to mention the chemistry he has with Nurk.
Nothing new to say, I still think that Grant should play as a 3 and sign a powerful 4 (if it couldn't be done I would play it with Jabari, Trendon, or Winslow), 50 minutes 8 rebounds ……. Hart 17 at 46 ……. a team that wants to play small ball needs a 4 that rebounds especially on the offensive side and can generate second and third chances , we can not give this job only to the pivot , in attack he would play his best game and in defense he could defend and above all help his teammates in the Pippen style. Another thing I would do is put Hart as the starting shooting guard and leave Ant to go out during the game, I would look for the team to be more balanced and compact. And the last thing of course is that Sharpe must be taken little by little , he will enter the rotations when he is ready for it , right now Jabari is more , much more ready to contribute for a very simple reason , his strengths are just the needs of the team in that position of 4 .
Winslow is the tough PF we have wanted, and Jerami Grant is the SF weâve wanted. Just need a starting guard who can actually âguardâ
Regardless of record, this team is so much more fun to watch than the past few years.
Could make a case for Walker starting too.

Being at the game, Justise looked like he was all over the place defensively. Offense looked more fluid than it did with Hart out there, granted he played against the Clippers great defense but Justise pleasantly surprised me where Nas has been disappointing
We need ant to be a major contributor. He is filling CJs spot. If he's not he's a way undersized gaurd. Same with Nurk. If he still at this point is a liability we need to clear and move on.
