[Steve Kerr on getting punched in the face by MJ] It’s something that happens probably three times a year on every team. But when Michael Jordan is involved it gets a little more (publicity).

I’m sorry but there is no way to excuse something like this, just because “It happened all the time back in the day”. Even then, I really doubt that what Kerr is talking about looked anything like this.

Back in the 80s/90s or in today’s NBA is the real question

He’s right. But there are differences between most of them and this recent scuffle, namely:

    1) It doesn’t seem like Poole actually did anything to get Dray riled up like that. And even if he did, he’s the vet. The leader. He’s supposed to help the immature kid, not be the immature kid.

    2) Videos of these scuffles don’t usually get leaked. It seems like its almost always handled internally without any sort of information leaking, let alone videos, because you definitely don’t hear about this kind of shit 90 (30 teams ×3) times over the course of an NBA season.

The video being leaked will affect Poole. There’s tons of people and even some corny ass Ja “broke the code” Morant is making fun of him on socials. He’s probably gonna hear atl east one “Draymond punched you” chant when he goes to the line at least one time from a away crowd over the course of the season.

Yea players do fight but this situation was way more vicious and also the context was different. A Vet, a mentor, basically bullying and trying to clock the shit outta the young star on the team? His own mentee? This was a malicious assault, not your everyday scrap.

Yall really trying to minimize Draymonds actions huh

Aside from JP, no one’s more qualified to talk about this issue than Steve Kerr because he was also on the receiving end of a punch in a similar situation (heated practice). Steve knows how these types of things play out. I’m following his lead.

I hope Draymond took a page out of MJ’s playbook and personally apologized to JP the next day.

“HoopJab” is the perfect channel to be covering such things
