  1. I really don’t know how this team will look when GPII comes back, but there are some massive holes we need him to fill. I hope that him plus Grant will be enough to answer our perimeter woes.

  2. hopefully gary gets a run next game against the warriors

  3. Blazercaster

Iā€™ve seen 6 dudes who look like they deserve minutes. Hopefully gp is a 7th. Maybe Keon makes 8. Sharpe, Nas, Watford, brown, etc all look like they need more time in the oven.

  4. this team doesnt look anywhere close to ready

better figure this shit out quick

  5. BehavioralSink

Iā€™m not one to overreact to preseason games, but if we look like this in the regular season our question wonā€™t be about whether we can finish above the play-in seeds but whether we should pull the plug and join the Victor Wembanyama Tankarama.

  6. SilentRunner0

Got out rebounded by 18. You cannot win that way.

  7. phil3199

Chauncey is very lucky he will soon get to enjoy the rest of his contract doing nothing at home. He’s gone before trade deadline.

Itā€™s just preseason, but you expect to see something from our guys at some point. Anything resembling an actual offensive scheme that isnā€™t a dollar tree version of Stottsā€™ PnR centric isos. At least a defense that looks competent, but we gave up 70pts with our starters playing heavy minutes to the Kings man. Iā€™m not panicking but my hype for the season is substantially subdued.

This season is going to get very real, very fast. Our schedule up to December is not pretty. I count 4 games we can reasonably expect to win. The rest are probably Lā€™s if you ask the bookies.

  9. I dont know what the issue is but sometimes it seems like blazers get wrecked by teams that would appear to have less talent

  10. Ace12773

Billups offensive scheme makes no sense, there is movement but it doesnā€™t produce any space. Itā€™s bizarre to watch.

  11. loudstain

That was absolutely painful. Kings looked like the 2016 Warriors from outside and only Grant of our starters looked good. (Simons/Hart were okay).

I’m not sure how well GP2 can fill the massive need for perimeter defense, but good grief it was horrid.

I’m not completely sold on another doom and gloom season yet, but these games have left a lot to be desired.

  12. geese1401

Donā€™t understand what Billups is doing. Why not play Sharpe big minutes

  13. shelvino

Where was Winslow? Sad it seems that we really need him and GP to be competent defensively. The
Dame-Keon-Nas-Watford-Sarr lineup was soooo bad. No legit screen setter and zero shooting.

Think Hart needs to be with the second unit more.Appreciated Keon on ball defense and some plays but overall not enough on either ends. Lack of a real back up 5 really killed us. Need Nas to take a big leap and find his rhythm quick

I’m here to chew bubblegum and overreact to a preseason game. And I’m all outta bubblegum.

  15. geese1401

Kings had 34 assists to our 18?? Is Stotts still the coach

  16. Ripcity4Life503

Another blow out? Jesus Christ. This team has looked awful in pre season. How many times can are we going to say itā€™s just pre season? Hard to get hyped for this upcoming szn. Unless we tank and go for victor which I would not mind at all.

  17. Almond_bongbong_1995

Sadly we are not strong enough to make to playoffs in wild west conference. Letā€™s tank one more season for Wembanyama and free Dame.
Itā€™s time to get ready new era with Ant, Sharpe, and another talent. Embrace it

  18. geese1401

    We lost in every statistic

Rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers, 3pt

    Everything!!

  19. No_Information3972

GBIII did not look like he belonged anywhere near an NBA court, and for the life of me I do not understand why Walker did not get more run. GBIII is constantly running around the floor like a chicken with its head cut off. I get it that he can jump out of the gym and has so much athletic ability, but howā€™s his BBIQ? Dude reminds me of my toddler running loose through the house like an out of control madman. Keon and Watford both looked like crap as well. Actually, to be fair, the whole team looked like crap tonight. Only preseason but this game was still very depressing.

  20. Proper_Hurry_362

Ant needs to come off bench start Hart and winslow at the 2/3

  21. Key-Pack-80

20/21 preseason was so much worse and then blazers finish 4th idk it seems like an overreaction

  22. ZaeDilla

Gonna get this out the way but goddamn did CJ win that trade lmfao. Heā€™s on such a better team.

  23. blinkomatic

Jabari the +/- King with +4….the rest of the team….not so much.

  24. asmara1991man

This team sucks Iā€™m sorry to say. Letā€™s go for the French kid

  25. GlueGuy00

I’m all for GP2 starting over Ant

This team has too many non shooting wings and needs another 3D wing. Keon has to go. One of Nas/Winslow has to go.

    starters: Dame/GP2/<new 3D wing>/Grant/Nurk

bench: Ant/Sharpe/Hart/Watford with Nas/Walker/Winslow getting the 10th man minutes depending on the matchups and their performance for each game.

  26. DrawMoreCats

I thought Billups would have the team further along than this. Mike Brown has rookies looking great and our veterans looks lost at times. Kinda surprising.

  27. RipCity-NBA-LoL

Late to the thread, so this probably falls on deaf ears. Gonna type it out for my peace of mind though.

I can’t really tell what we have meaningfully worked on so far. Our offense is stagnant, looking like a worse version of past years’. Our defense is probably worse as a cohesive unit than before, which is saying something as we’ve been mostly bottom of the barrel in that category.

We have a bit more defensive stuff here and there, but we left a shooter open every play once the ball moved. People don’t know how to move or where to be. It looked like a disaster, regardless of lineup.

I want to know what Billups is trying to teach these guys, so I can understand how we want to play. We’re getting out-hustled like nobody’s business. The boards, the fast breaks, the ball movement. We lost in every category to a team that should be, at worst, on our level. That’s relative to our team.

Who, if anyone, is going to step up and change the dynamic on this roster? We lost one of our leaders in CJ. We have at least similar talent, but it’s coming together worse.

I want to understand if Billups is a capable coach.
