    > “It’s rare,” Durant told ESPN’s Nick Friedell. “It’s rare. I’ve been in the league 16 years, and I’ve never seen that until the other day on camera. You hear about it with MJ and you hear about it with Bobby Portis, but there’s nothing that’s happening every year. It’s very rare that something like that happens.”

So who’s telling the truth? KD that it’s rare. Or Kerr who says it happens all the time (but doesn’t get leaked).

  2. pinoyakopinoytayo

hard to see it when youve already blacked out from the punch

  3. Wasn’t KD there when Tristan Thompson snuffed Draymond? Actually that was in a club

  4. Pal__Pacino

So basically it happens every other week or once in a decade depending on who you ask.

  5. DynamixRo

Alpha redditors that witness teammates knocking each other out on a regular basis in shambles.

  6. shiny_lustrous_poo

KD waited until he knew what the public opinion was and then made a statement

  7. fuckthisiteihateit

yeah he’s more known for kicking 🦵 ppl in the balls

The one sided nature and Draymond escalating it so quickly, violently and connecting is probably very rare. Griffin vs the team staffer is probably the only recent equivalent (that we know of).

I’m guessing guys jawing, pushing and shoving with some punches thrown while being separated are common.

That said, I wouldn’t call Draymond’s punch a sucker punch. It was definitely wrong, stupid and reckless, but I usually associate that with attacking a completely oblivious bystander or someone who’s not looking.

Yeah sure guys get into it and shove each other then BOTH square up and get a few jabs in. Draymond threw a sucker punch like a insecure pussy on a guy way smaller the him. Definitely doesn’t happen often if ever I’m surprised he’s still on the team. Was overrated in his prime and now washed up.

  10. It seems like general agreement that punches *like that* don’t happen regularly. Where I see a decent split of opinion is whether it was a “sucker punch” or whether Poole should have known to get his hands up and expect something.

Man alive, I can’t wait for the season to start so this story can die already.

    Yes sucker punches are rare

    Fights normal.

    Let’s all move on

  13. AllOutRaptors

Wait you mean when people on Reddit were saying it happens all the time were wrong? Damn I assumed we had some NBA insiders on here

  14. Yeah, it’s not like MJ ever punched Steve Kerr before. And Kerr said he has seen it multiple times…

  15. thy_armageddon

2K for sure adding a scene where you get knocked out by a teammate in practice next year.

In hindsight, I don’t blame KD leaving the Warriors. Not the only reason, but he probably was tired of dealing with Draymond after a couple of years.

  18. cjmaguire17

Nba should let ‘em throw on cages and hockey gloves and let them locker box to settle their differences

**“Durant also praised the Warriors’ ability to maneuver through an ugly moment. ‘I know that group,’ Durant said. “That’s a strong group, tight-knit group.’ …**

**I think the best thing about the Warriors is their mantra’s been ’Strength in Numbers’ that whole time. And it’s always been a collaborative effort with everybody there,” he said, singling out Steph Curry, Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney as veteran leaders…**

**[and] It’s none of our business. But it happened to be part of our daily conversation because we’ve seen the videos. We’ve all got our opinions, but to be honest, mine’s don’t matter. It is what it is.”**

Bruh you can’t just exclude this context, it makes it seem like KD is dissing the Warriors or something in your original caption.

Pat Bev said on his podcast it doesn’t happen. Flat out, it doesn’t happen. So the warriors are clearly handling this themselves with “white-glove” treatment and giving Dray way too much leeway,

  21. It probably happens once every year. Is it rare or common?

  22. grumpypenguin1

I have no doubt shoving matches happen all the time and maybe the occasional punch with two guys squaring up at each other. But just a full on sucker punch from someone not involved in the play? No way that happens all the time like some players were trying to imply

  23. szeto326

Scuffles are normal but what Draymond Green did definitely has to be abnormal…

Like before the video came out, if I were to ask you what you thought happened, most of us would say something along the lines of “they were up in each other’s face, possibly jawing at each other and then it got a bit physical and Draymond pushed or lunged his arm upwards in a sort of punch without the windup”, as opposed to what actually happened on video..
