Brian Murphy, host of the Murph & Mac Show on KNBR, joins Cyrus Saatsaz to provide his perspective both as a radio talk show host, author and former award-winning newspaper reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle regarding the Draymond Green – Jordan Poole Party altercation and where the team goes from here. Plus the crew discuss the parallels between this year’s Golden State Warriors team and the 1989 San Francisco 49ers and the breaking news that Quinndary Weatherspoon and Lester Quiñones were waived by the team.

  1. "Breaking social norms isn't an issue if your not hurting anyone". How about Jordan Pooles jaw? How about On July 10, 2016, Green was arrested for misdemeanor assault after he and another man, former Michigan State cornerback Jermaine Edmondson tangled outside Conrad's Grill in downtown East Lansing. He has probably gotten away with way more. Anything for winning lol

  2. I like Brian Murphy and Cyrus Saatsaz, they seem real dont over react to get more rating. The other are two face, love you one moment, but with the other hand, have a knife to stab you in the back.

  3. Let me kick you in the nads, Cyrus. In the name of gamesmanship. What do you mean that no one was hurt? Jordan was hurt. Man, you speak out of your arse.

Why does anyone need an explanation from Jordan? He's the victim here dude. I don't want Dray to get traded, but he was wrong. Quit being an enabler.

  4. You media guys are trying why to hard to get likes.quit trying to make stuipedo narratives. You all getting like cnn

  5. I'd rather be a moralist than an a weak willed individual like the guest. These jock sniffing apologists should be ashamed of themselves for their willingness to let a felonious act go. This includes the Warriors organization. The onus should not fall on the victim's shoulders. Rather, Lacob's people should make it loud and clear that Poole had no influence on their decision to fire Green just as they would have done if one of their front office employees assaulted another front office employee. If they want to strengthen the team, take the $25 million Green would have been paid and give it to Poole. Start the season with a clean slate! There is a cloud hanging over the team that will continue to affect team cohesion because millions of people have seen the video of Green's egregious behavior over and over again AND a victim does not forget a physical imprint that was so forceful that Poole was knocked unconscious.

Furthermore, the hidden trauma to Poole's neck muscles and connective tissue, though not noticeable now, could easily have a negative affect his performance in the coming years as well as give him lifelong neck pain and headaches, resulting in breaking the string of championships that the Dubs surely had in store for them.in the coming five to ten years.

  6. I cannot believe all the hand-wringing about Draymond Green. The following comment is NOT directed at Cyrus or Brian, but perhaps those agonizing about the punch should go to one of those gender-reassignment places and have a pair of testicles transplanted.

Hall of Famer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar assaulted Kent Benson live and in living color in an NBA game. Kareem threw a sucker punch and broke Benson’s jaw. It was a dirty play and not his only one. Ask Tommy Burleson and Dennis Awtrey. Nobody would call Dray a dirty player. Aggressive yes. Trash talking yes. But not dirty.

Like any schoolyard fight, if the combatants are OK with each other, then we should be OK. Poole and Dray are both high-testosterone trash-talkers. That’s what we want on the team. It should be expected that things will boil over from time to time. Anybody who says anything different does not have even a passing acquaintance with actual men.

  7. People watch fake choreographed wrestling violent stupid garbage instead of mma really common much to do about not much move on there so stupid cause they watch such wrestling crap enough Namaste

  8. Dre has been defined by Steven Adams…LaQueef…K.D. and now this. This isn't who he is??? Then who is he????

  9. time to get Kaylan and Wes back on the show to add common sense back to the pod cast, cuz todays takes were completely off.

  10. 😮 I’m an 8th degree BB in Isshinryu Karate and here is what happened. Dray went over to get in Pools face, Pool violently pushed Dray. Dray stepped in and punched Pool. NOT A SUCKER PUNCH. I’ll break it down. 90% of fights happen like this. Guy gets in your face, you push them they throw a punch, period. Two mistakes. Pool aggressively pushed Dray, that forces Dray to punch. If Pool took one step back there would be no fight. As a professional coach, fighter and teacher Pool was at fault and started the contact. That is a fact and if most of the players were honest they would tell you they would have done the same thing if Pool pushed them like that.

  11. Nobody is saying it’s a pattern of violence. It’s a pattern of a bunch of other stuff. Violence is the only line you can draw? Other behavior can be just as destructive.
