Jeremy Sochan is not gonna be a player for your average stats watcher, especially toward the beginning of his career. He’s incredibly disruptive on defense even if it doesn’t always lead to a counting stat (steal or block) and because of that I think it’ll probably go less notices initially compared to someone like Tari Eason, for example, who looks like he’s going to be a block and steal machine.
But my point is Sochan’s going to be really, really good in his own right. Even if it’s not ideal matchup regularly, I think he’ll be able to hold his own against some 5s and 1s in the right situation, he’s always going to make entry passes difficult, and he’ll be a wing-stopper regularly. Give him a few years in the hyperbolic chamber and he’s gonna be a crazy valuable asset. If he unlocks that 3-ball even at an average rate at some point he’s going to be a nightmare for other teams.
