    I’ve missed you THJ

Also, Josh Green is a menace on D. I freaking love it.

  2. mcarterIV

Glad to see THJ cooking again, bench unit looking niceee

  3. FaBiOtHeGrEaTeSt

Josh Green looking amazing on defense

  4. actual_yellow_bag

Dorsey turned into Klay there for a second

Well the one time hardy scored he looked pretty good. Also I loved that Dinwiddie,Hardaway,Green,Frank,Maxi lineup

  6. “Free agent signing” Tim Hardaway Jr played lights out

  7. dantheflyingman

Some things about the team still look like a work in progress, but overall happy with the performance.

I think Dinwiddie is better off the bench like last season. Him and Hardaway seem to have a nice chemistry and it feels like a waste to have him just stand around while playing with Luka. I also think Green needs be more assertive on offense. Feel like he stands in the corner too much and just waits. Love what he brings on defense tho.

Didn’t watch the game but how did Josh Green look?

  10. maverickhistorian

Great defense from green, luka and wood had good defensive showings. Hardaway looked great and dorsey saved himself from being cut

    Who is counting steals? Scorekeeper?

Green had at least 3 steals alone in the 4th. Had 1 or 2 after the 1st quarter. Someone need glasses 😂

Our bench will be feasting this year. Not many teams can compete with quality players like THJ Christian Wood and Maxi coming in and facing second unit guys. If Green can show a little bit more on the offensive side(he looks serviceable already) that’s another guy teams have to think about as well.

This team clicked tonight – our playmaking is going to flow through Spence and Luka, but at the same time, it’s going to be redirected through C-Wood, THJ, Joshy, and Franky at some points, so the biggest worry I had over the off-season looks to have been well-addressed, I think!

Plus how our 3-and-D guys are pulling up with their 2-point jump shot and cutting to the rim off the dribble is looking smooth.

Can bertans + powell + sweetener (maybe 2 2nd) get us hayward? Lmao

Cmon MJ, Luka will and already makes you so much money. Hook us up :p

    Spence a 1 for 8 but still a team high +13

Wow, Josh Green’s defense in that game was amazing, especially in the third quarter. He has to be our best defensive playmaker on the team. I say that based on his ability to get deflections off ball and impact passing lanes.

Doe/Reggie/Frank are all great at navigating screens, rotating within the scheme and generally staying glued to their man, but none of them create the havoc as an off ball defender like Josh can. Along with Josh’s 3 steals, I counted at least 5 deflections off the weak side or in a passing lane. Josh’s hands are always active and his general hustle just creates opportunities for TOs that nobody can really match on the team.

If Josh can just learn to get a little skinnier on screens, so he’s not trailing the ballhandler as much, than he legit has an all-nba defender ceiling.

He definitely struggled in the PnR with Wood in the 1st half. Wood wasn’t able to tag the roller or really prevent the penetration in the PnR. That forced Green to have to really dive down on the roller, leading to Green getting burned on being late or having to foul. But in the 3rd with Maxi as the five Green was everywhere. Even when Green got knocked off by a screen Maxi was able to contain long enough to allow Josh to get back into the the play without an issue.

Hopefully this can be fixed a few ways- Wood needs to communicate the screen earlier to Josh, Wood being more active in the drop by tagging the roller earier, orrr Josh taking a different angle around the screen. Just something to look at when Wood and Josh play together.

Pretty impressed with our defense in this game

If today is any indications of how things might go, Green & THJ are going to get some opportunities to start over Dinwiddie.
