James Bouknight was arrested on October 16th by CMPD on suspicion of DUI. It’s one more distraction right before the season in an offseason defined by them. Lots of questions remain to be answered including why he was allowed to practice on Monday and if the team knew about past reckless driving charges. Are the issues the Hornets issues this offseason all bad luck or are they reflective of larger culture issues among the team and organization as a whole?

You canât get kicked off the team for DUIs right ?
You guys may have to change the name to "Locked up Hornets ". I would ship him out the first chance I got before a Miles Bridges level incident occurs. Multiple incidents since coming to Charlotte and others at UCON. Simple fix trade to NY for Cam Reddish.

Bouknight has been arrested before in Mecklenburg County. He was most recently charged with reckless driving to endanger on Oct. 10, reckless driving-wanton disregard on Nov. 11, 2021, and again on Feb. 23, 2022
Definitely one of the worst in terms of expectations. This was suppose to be a franchise-altering offseason for us and itâs been absolutely regressive for the organizationâŚsmh!

Remember what the death of Bobby Phil's did to the franchise. What about other players potentially being passengers during Bouknight DWI, reckless driving and excessive speeding? What if Melo had been with him while driving intoxicated? It could potentially bankrupt the franchise if star players were severely injured or worse? In any other business a risk manager would eliminate the potential exposure to catastrophic loss and that's exactly what this is.

1st red flag: draft night: his frowning when his name was called like he was expecting to go top 3.
2nd red flag: A raw rookie, barely 5 months deep in the league attempts to physically fight the head coach.
3rd red flag: He acts the fool in the stands at a game at his alma mater and gets thrown out.
Now this. Make no mistake, his screw ups are just getting started.
Perhaps there was more behind the scenes why there was friction between Borrego and Bouknight
