I feel like this was the same as every other game against the mavs. The “double the star” gameplay simply does not work against Luka. He makes the right pass everytime and the mavs surround him with the shooters that can capitalize. You have OG, yet you assign Scottie on Luka for some reason? Why not just play him straight up with OG guarding and live with the results?
The siakam injury sucks so much. Not only does it ruin his superstar momentum he was on this year but it might take him a while to comeback from. His last injury he came back looking less explosive and wasn’t really himself until a few months after. If that happens again this year it could really put a dent into the season.
Scottie in the 4th was great, but also what makes him frustrating lol. Like why did he wait that long to flip the switch and play aggressive? Just something he needs to work on in his game.

Scottie was invisible for 3 quarters and spectacular in the 4th.
GTJ was invisible all night and this is one of the biggest problems with Gary. If he’s not giving you buckets, he’s more or less invisible.

OG needs to be on doncic a lot more. Nurse very stubbornly kept putting Scottie on him and then sending double teaming constantly. That doesn’t work on a playmaker as good as doncic.
Nurse wasted OG’s 1v1 defense this game. You can put OG on doncic 1v1 and he will make doncic have to work for everything without needing double teams. Just a misuse of OG’s defense this game.
