Portland Trail Blazers beat Miami Heat on Josh Hart Buzzer Beating 3-Pointer: This Team is Clutch

The Portland Trail Blazers did it again. For the second time in three games the Blazers hit a buzzer beater to win a game on the road. This time Josh Hart’s three-pointer was the difference, capping a furious Portland rally in the final six minutes.

10:17 – Small ball changed this game and Justise Winslow was the catalyst. The Blazers changed the game in the final 6:15 with a center-less lineup that propelled them to victory.

18:20 – Chauncey Billups deserves a ton of credit for the outcome of this game, and Portland is developing an identity as a team that believes it can win down the stretch of close games. Is that the clutch gene?

  1. We NEED games like this where the team doesn't rely on Dame to get the win. These are the kind of games that will get us through a series. Everyone contributing.

  2. I feel like if when every game they win is a “lucky win”, then eventually you have to admit it’s more than luck. And if we’re gonna talk about luck, we’ve got to also keep in mind all the times they have bad luck.

  3. Yes the balance will swing back and forth and there will be wire games that they lose, but for those of us who have suffered the years of watching Dame have to carry the team on his back without a sense of real team potential built on a trust that each player has in every other team member, and a depth of ability that offers the resilience that the great teams have knowing that when one guy is off there are choices from the other ten or twelve capable mates that can pick up the slack and where defense is getting good enough to rely on to create opportunities to catch up when they’re behind and spark the offense and I’m just rambling on and on like the giddy out of his mind Blazer fan that I am, so
phew
good job Mike. Keep on keepin on. You rock.

  4. It felt like the bench won this game for the Blazers. They set the tone of the game, they were aggressive, they clamped down the the defense. Hope, and I think it was just rust, but Dame seemed off. Sloppy slow passes and moves, but again, think it might have just been some rust. Feel that outside the obvious heroes of the game was Eubanks who was there defensively and offensively
