Timeline of How YAO, T-MAC and the HOUSTON ROCKETS FAILED to Win an NBA Title | RISE and FALL

After Houston was awarded the 1st overall pick in the 2002 NBA draft, they selected Yao Ming. In the 2004 off-season, they saw major changes in the roster by trading for Tracy McGrady.

Still, the duo was plagued with injuries – of the 463 regular season games for which they were teammates, Yao missed 146 and McGrady 160 – and did not win any playoff series.

  1. Timeline of Tmac's failed. Not Yao and Tmac. Tmac is the Most overrated player of all time.

  2. One of the classics "what if" NBA history. If T-Mac and Yao were full health, I cant say they were going to win the Finals but at least they could reach it especially in 2009

  3. Grew up watching in this era. Man if only we stayed healthy, I'm sure we could've won at least 2 championships

  4. Wow the Rockets could have won the chip in 09, they forced a game 7 with no Tmac and 3 games of Yao? 😂

  5. So many first round exits man 🤦🏾‍♂️ and it’s even more crazy that McGrady keep saying stuff like “hopefully it’s our year” or “if I don’t make it pass the first round, it’s on me,” and yeah. Saying that it aged well is an understatement. You could be looking at one of the most unluckiest teams ever in this stretch. Sad.

Also, I have never seen a player like Yao so fragile in my life 😂

  6. So sad to see injuries ultimately ruin 2 legend’s careers. Yao retired by age 30… he would’ve ended up as arguably the most dominant center in NBA history if he had a full career

  7. Hey man, I really like these timelines about teams that fell short of the goal. There's another timeline of that sort I'd like to recommend, that being the Stockton & Malone era Utah Jazz. I think that would be a great vid.

  8. Thank you so much! I love you bro keep up the good work so much wanted this very much so happy you made this one finally!!!

  9. 0:56 I remember Francis not wanting to go to Vancouver…. He looked like the kid at school with no lunch money
