Hate to be a downer Matt, but I’m tempering my excitement. Great game, I see progression but growth isn’t linear. Kinda like the stock market, there will be ups and downs but hopefully an average up trend. Let’s see if Barnes and Murray can stay consistent.
Yes, nit picky Matt. Davion is your best G defender… but if Fox continues to play D like he has, then the drop off isn’t dramatic and yes, I would put Fox in sooner
We need to shore up the interior defense and defensive rebounding somehow. Without that, best case scenario is 10 seed and getting sent home immediately after losing the first play-in game
I can't stand Metu getting playing time. He hasn't done much on the offensive end and getting bullied down low in the post on defense. Lyles is bigger and better at Center. Play Lyles over Metu at Center. Metu needs to ride the bench with Okpala and Moneke. Metu is a 3rd string PF
I am glad that Harrison Barnes is showing signs of life. I admit that I was at a point where I was like…is he even an NBA talent anymore? Is it time for him to retire?
So it is good to see he still has some basketball in him. I still hope that this team trades him. I think ultimately the Kings will improve by going a new direction. Yes. He had a good game. But 1 good game out of 10. For the Kings to make the play-in tournament or the playoffs Barnes needs to have 9 good games out of 10. Not sure if he has it in him.
Now…willing to give him the next 10 to see if he can put that streak together.
But right now…I am like…okay. she showed up and showed he still has life in his body where we were all thinking he was becoming the invisible man.

Also, I enjoyed mike pulling fox and holding the star to the same accountability and fox seemingly responded when he got back in, got a huge steal in a big spot at the end
It looked to me that Fox got pulled a few times, although I saw the effort when Brown put him back in with like 2 minutes to go. I'm going to wait and see how Fox plays on Friday. Im more then a little worried he may fall into the old Fox. A bounce back game would be awesome to see… and what I hope happens.
The biggest take aways I saw are they are still trying to out offense the other team…they have gotten to the free throw line and improved the makes the last 2 1/2 games. They are now focusing on defense but didn't the 2000 teams still have that knock too. If they can close out games when it matters and can play ahead until their defense philosophy sets in deep I can live with it. Coach Brown finally settling on a 9 player rotation… I like it. The coaches picked it right. Monk and Lyles getting the most minutes off the bench along with Davion and playing winning basketball. Unfortunately rishaun is out but I think he is still useful but because he doesn't really have a 3 pt shot or space very well he's at best a rebounder ,screener and short range or post up when he's in. Chemize has been impactful too.
I'd trade Harrison Barnes to the Lakers for Matt Ryan & Austin Reeves.😂. Rob Pelinka will totally do it. 🤣.
Disagree about the Fox thing. Fox was not playing defense. He was reverting to bad habits by pretending to play hard. He let Love walk by him for a rebound and then slammed into him for no reason. Mike Brown is holding his stars accountable. That is how you rebuild a culture.

I agree with the richaun Holmes perspective. I feel like Holmes being the starter at the beginning of the season hurt his production and then his confidence. Due to lack luster communication offensively and 1 on 1 ball. Hopefully he can get back in the rotation and be used towards his strength now that the team is starting to gel and sync more
good analysis, you're spot on about Malik Monk, Trey Lyles. and how Metu took Holmes spot. Richaun Holmes used to be effective with his "push shot", he might need to get rid of the eye google as it's affecting his vision and shot selection. It's better to trade him now, but the Kings might get too much value for him, a couple of future 2nd rounders the most.🤧
