Speaking of the Phillies… Doc Rivers is the Joe Girardi of the 76ers.
* Not the worse coach in the world, but the only championship they ever won was because they had the undisputed best players, and otherwise wasted some truly great BOS/NYY teams. * Went to Philadelphia after a despised coach was run out of town and was initially embraced with open arms and praised for righting the ship * Both Kapler and Brown are now remembered far better in hindsight, but at the time it was brutal. * Eventually, their flaws of never trusting the young guys, mediocrity, and underperformance wears out their welcome.
Phillies fired Girardi after a 22-29 start, and went to the WS. (Long Live Topper)
