Canā€™t say Iā€™m surprised we knew this team needs work still. Ways to go to get to championship level but they have time. Roughest MPJ game of the year, I hope he can learn how to get in the flow of the game better. Just completely off.

  2. Sleepinginabathtub

Jaylen Brown is better than Tatum.

  3. BoneyardBill

Was gunna ask if WRB reffed that game but we all know he could have done a better fucking job. HOLY SHIT.

Also we couldn’t defend shit from the 3 line.

    On to the next one!

  4. _absofuckinglutely

Welp. Grizzlies / Twolves gonna be a good game. Pulling for the Wolves.

  5. ephen_stephens

Celtics played great. We played mediocre.

MPJ needs to step up in situations like these. Defense was okay, but heā€™s gotta be more of an offensive threat.

GG Boston. On to the next one.

  6. BallsDicks

I hope Jokic is okay. That stare down with the ref was awesome

  7. Betaateb

MPJ plays even a decent game and that game was winnable. He was just absolutely awful tonight, someone send that man a new bible.

  8. number15ismyfather

Good lesson against a legit championship contender not stressin bc itā€™s november and ok they just dropped to ā€¦ 8-4 but shows the level you gotta be at to compete with these kind of teams, esp on the road – gotta be maximum effort and execution if you wanna beat these kinda teams, on both ends, and if you donā€™t hit that level, you get a game like tonight where nuggets got down big early, made the run to close the gap, but the deficit was just too much to overcome and other team took care of business in crunch time

  9. BojanIZ079

Of course the D needs work but a better first quarter, and I hate to say it, not having shit officiating we couldā€™ve walked away with this one. That flagrant on MPJ and a lot of other calls during our runs really killed any momentum we had going. Onto the next one

  10. 3rdtryatremembering

Losing both of our backup PGs just as our bench is was starting to come together is annoying.

  11. bearsquadz

No bible no MPJ. Nuggets know what they need to do

  12. EmbraceComplexity

Was pretty funny hearing even the Celtics commentators shocked when they got calls go their way. Not why we lost but playing in the garden is tough.

  13. WeirdRedBeard

    * Another game where Jok gets mugged all game long without calls, but then gets whistled for touch fouls. I can’t imagine how frustrating this is for him, because it’s driving me up the fucking wall. We don’t even need star calls, or anything, just don’t shaft us every night ffs

    * Mr. Nugget got dominated by Luke Kornet. This is frustrating as shit.

    * I genuinely got a bad headache when Pritchard caught 5TH OFFENSIVE REBOUND early in the 3rd

    * Not Bruce’s best game, I don’t think, although I gotta say I don’t blame him for it, he got assigned a bigger role offensively than I imagine anyone wanted for him

    * Nice to see Zeke is healthy…

    * Those flagrants were something.

    * This is probably, what, top10 most difficult game of the season? Arguably the one you’d concede first if you had to pick? Cs are a good team, they made some tough shots, I thought we actually did much better than I expected. I’d like our chances in the playoffs.

  14. OhWhatsInaWonderball

Two charmin ass flagrants flipped momentum in this one

  15. DodgaCole

Not the worst loss in the world. Boston is a good team thatā€™s capable of making the NBA finals. Winning in TD is gonna be tough for any team. I like that the team kept the same energy and tried to comeback, never really got out of it until the very end.

I liked that Malone adjusted and took DAJ out in the 2nd half. Celtics weā€™re abusing him over and over. Iā€™d really like to see Bones in that small ball bench lineup because it was cooking offensively without our best bench guard which is a good sign. Unfortunately the team never really recovered from that first bench stint even tho they got close at times.

Al horford shot 75% from three, Jaylen brown literally didnā€™t miss his first 10 shots. Thereā€™s bad defense and then thereā€™s times like this when your opponent canā€™t miss no matter what happens. It is what it is.

Nuggets had an alright game I guess, jokic missed some bunnies, MPJ missed shots he normally hits, no bones. Inexcusable offensive rebounds and also some bad bounces.

Not the most worrying loss, but damn if it isnā€™t frustrating. One of those ones where you know it couldā€™ve been our win.

  16. EmbraceComplexity

MPJ is obsessed with that side step/step back jumper and you can tell the Celtics scouted for it. Sometimes heā€™s just gotta shoot it normally bro youā€™re 7 feet tall.

  18. Boring-Perspective16

I think Jokic is slowly loosing desire to play competitive basketball during regular season. Yes it’s only 11-12 games but he looks so uninterested to score, like he is forced to score, his is playing without any joy it seems, I don’t know what the fuck happened

  19. bigwillystyle93

Tough game, Celtics are a great team. I think Malone waited too long to bring Jok back in. Take the L and move on, we will be alright

  20. orchestrareal

Not great but not that bad either. 3 players had a good game, Bruce played ok, I expected Mal to do a bit better but whatever. Deandre goat.

  21. dnelson7

Eh, long road trip and we lost to a team that was just in a finals. Theyā€™re a soft ass team tho. Smart has a fake DPOY I swear to god. Pussy ass flopper.

  22. nugginthat

I donā€™t mind this loss as much, Nuggets played hard they were just out physicalled mostly. Giving up a ton of wide open threes doesnā€™t seem to be the best strategy though.

  23. EmbraceComplexity

Bottom line weā€™re 8-4 and havenā€™t really played that well. Itā€™s going to be ok.

  24. n0t_malstroem

Oh well at least I got some decent money on the Magic to win

  25. undefined404

It would take a 3-peat for Jokic to stop getting this reverse superstar call

  26. ApplesAndToothpicks

    GG Boston.

What hurts the most is that all of our losses so far have been blowouts. All of our losses have resulted in just keeping close for some time and then letting it completely go near the end of the 4th.

Our defense sucks, no sugarcoating it. Many teams had their season-high shooting nights against us, there’s a good reason for it. Our perimeter defense is still dogwater. There’s still time to iron it out. Our pieces are there, but there’s still communication issues. It looked kinda decent the last few games, but got exposed vs an elite offense like Boston. Malone better get to work.

I also hope this Jokic foul trouble thing doesn’t become a trend, where he has to sit a whole quarter.

Shout out to KCP, what a pickup.

Also no sugarcoating that MPJ and Murray were ice cold. Jamal was missing so many bunnies inside, MPJ uncharacteristically bricking open 3s. If they made at least a couple of those, could’ve changed the momentum.

  27. Jokic can carry but not against elite teams.

Boston will probably win it all this season but we might be able to contend if Murray and MPJ ever become stars.

  28. Antique30

With current level of defense we are nowhere near where we want to be. No big trade is possible now. Players and Staffs should really figure out the defense till April

  29. Downisthenewup87

On a night that Bol Bol LED the Magic to a blowout win over the Suns…

The Nuggets lost because they got out-hustled, because Murray very clearly still isn’t back to full strength, because MPJ had a rough game and the Celtics are very good.

But also because Mike Malone decided to hire Ryan Saunders as his defensive coordinator insists on playing DJ while another promising young big rots on the bench..

Also, a huge fuck you to the refs who were fucking on one tonight. Like sometimes, I wonder why I even bother watching the NBA when Jokic gets treated like this by the refs even after winning two MVPs.

  30. What needs to happen for Malone to try Zeke over DJ/Green for like 5-10 games?

  31. couponuser9

Always gonna be tough to win on the road when one backup PG is already out and the other misses the game due to health & safety 30 min before the game. Especially with clear-cut one-sided officiating like tonight.

What is clear though, is that teams are completely unafraid to drive into the lane even when they are covered. Bascially, Jokic AG MPJ and JG need to actually start putting their hands up and jumping when contesting shots at the rim. This groundbound “swipe & pray” is really becoming a huge problem. Just fucking try.

MPJ was terrible tonight on both ends as well. Worst game of the season for him, easily.

  32. BoneyardBill

Can we blame this on the Kiszla article? Thanks.

  33. TwoWayMarko

Could not handle their defense which did not help our own defensive effort, glad we can put that ā€œbest offense in the leagueā€ narrative to rest , the Cā€™s are where we want to be and tonight showed that we still have a long way to go , which is good , a game to keep the team grounded and hopefully make us better down the road . I liked that malone adjusted in the 2nd half with leaving DJ out as we came all the way back , he has been great this season but the celtics are not a good matchup for him. A lot of good teaching tape . Fuck thise refs. Off to the next one

  34. NBAperspective

It blows my mind that Ryan Saunders, who lead Minnesota to a 28th ranked defense, has the title of defensive coordinator and the Nuggets have had the worst defense its seen in the Jokic era. This is despite adding 3 plus defenders in the offseason.

  35. griffskry

We lose one game and all the doomers come out from under the floorboards.

  36. LessThanCleverName

Well, on the bright side, if they donā€™t take the whole first half defensively (OREB!) this is a much better game.

  37. Lazy-Armadillo7599

I expected to lose this one- theyā€™re aggressive, fast, physical, disciplined/well-coached. Murray and MPJ rough nights. AG needed to be in with the bench more.

  38. NBAperspective

Jokic was at his MVP level this game, I’m surprised he’s getting clowned?

  39. – I still don’t get the DJ signing – could’ve been any young player who can jump, catch the ball and hand it off to the nearest guy
    – would love to see more Zeke and Vlatko minutes, even if shit hits the fan it’s likely less shit than watching DJ get exploited every play
    – despite the super flat start, good to see guys catch up with the game at one point and cut the lead severely
    – hopefully they fix rebounding and layups
    – Malone has to figure out one more backup player to get more minutes out of the 3 available

Hopefully the next one is less ugly though I enjoyed the matchup

  40. KrippledElephan

Tough game got outplayed for sure and jayson Tatum looks more and more like an mvp candidate everyday good for them we move onto the next

  41. LegendOfTooget

DAJ 0 rebounds in 9 minutes…. Yikes lmao

  42. NBAperspective

DJ’s efforts is what you get when you guarantee a washed vet rotation minutes. No motivation to play hard.
