Steph Curry’s MVP season so far:

**33.3** PPG

**6.8** RPG

**6.7** APG

**1.2** Stocks

**2.5** TOV

**69.5%** TS% (**70.3% TS%** with Heaves Filtered),

**44%** 3P% on 12.2 3PA (**45%** on 11.9 with Heaves Filtered)

**64%** 2P% on 9.1 2PA

**91%** FT% on 6.1 FTA

Some fun facts:

He has a **2.7 AST:TOV** ratio

He’s making **5.4 3s a game.** If he keeps up this pace for 75 games, he will *break his 3s in a season record.*

He’s doing this in only **35 MPG** while facing an insane amount of defensive coverage and adding vast amounts of off-ball value (shown in the stat below)

The Warriors have a +6.33 Net Rating with him on the court and a -20.94 Net Rating with him off the court (Cavs game not included yet), for a whopping **+27.27 Net On/Off.**

The Warriors have a **9% better eFG% when he is on the court,** a historic number. For reference, Trae, Luka, Giannis, Ja, and Damian improve their team by 3%, 2%, 1% -2%, and 7% eFG%, respectively. Only Jokic is comparable in this regard.

The Warriors have a 5-7 record, which is holding back his MVP case compared to other candidates who have far better seeds, but their next 14 games are:

Kings, Spurs, Suns, Knicks, Rockets, Pelicans, Clippers, Jazz, Wolves, Mavericks, Bulls, Rockets, Pacers, Jazz.

With 2 wins in a row featuring much-improved team defence, we could see the Warriors rise up in the standings and, consequently, Curry rise up in the MVP race.

If his record was 8-4 or even 7-5 he would be leading the MVP race

  2. KYRIE542

If only Curry was over .500 then he would be leading it rn, but it’s no doubt that this years MVPs so far has been Giannis, Tatum, Curry, and Luka.

  3. Carne_Asada_Friez

Not sustainable, he’s about to break his back any day now carrying this squad. They need a Lou Williams type who can just get them a bucket and give Steph a breather

Steph has been fantastic, and has been statistically as good as anyone. The loss of GP2 and Otto Porter has really stung the Warriors, Klay has been pretty cold mostly, and Wiseman hasnt been it. That said, Curry seems to have gone about his business regardless, and that is a credit to him. If GSW can find a good run of wins, he is easily top 3 with Giannis and Luka

Bruh his team is gonna cost him the MVP.

  6. SardonicSeraphim

They just need Wiseman to not play and he’ll be the MVP.

  7. behappysometimes

    Poole really did swindle everybody.

  8. Sad_Inevitable8242

He hasn’t played more than 64 games a year the last three years. In 17-18 he also only played 51 games. There has been no indication for us to believe that he all of sudden is able to play 70+ games at age 34 which I think will be necessary for him to win MVP over players with similar stats and better records.

Also he is playing the most minutes so far since 2014. So 35 minutes are heavy for him right now.

  9. PJTikoko

The fact that the team isn’t playing well besides him is the only criticism for him to not win the MVP is very telling.

don’t jinx them against kings/spurs, both those teams literally have been doing better than the warriors. XD

It’s gotta stop someday.lol. Might be the greatest point guard of all time

  12. SirThixcksAlot

He’s been the best player this season but I’m curious to see how long he can keep this up and how much he comes back down to earth

  13. AgonYourFace

There is no “mvp race” 12 games into the season

  14. It’s almost like defense and record matter as well

    It’s Giannis easily right now

    Edit: Spelling

Anyone who didn’t think he was gonna have this type of season this year wasn’t paying attention.

He’s a shooter, and shooters rely on rhythm and confidence even when as skilled and hard of a worker as curry. He got his record last year, all star game MVP and obviously most importantly he got his ring and finals MVP.

He’s free to skyfuck with nothing else on his mind, he silenced the haters.

That all time 3 point record is running away from current players. No one other than Steph has averaged over 4 makes over a span of the last 5 years. If Steph keeps this up for a few years he’ll Hit the 4200 career 3pt made mark. It would take a player having a 15 year career playing an average of 70 games per season hitting 4 makes a game for all those seasons. Very few have ever averaged that for 1 season. Other than Steph, Harden and Dame had 2 season with 4 made threes a game and Hield had 1.

  17. GastricAcid

Not winning mvp if he misses the playoffs

  18. Desafiante

If Curry had players like Jrue and Brook playing at all star level he’d already be ahead in the mvp race.

  19. Kashmir33

This feels eerily similar to last season when Curry started off super hot. He averaged 30/6/7 on 65 TS% for 15 games and then simply fell off hard. The Warriors also just lost twice in that time though. He has a much worse team around him now.

  20. yungstraddle

Why are we talking about the MVP race in November?

  21. Jaded-Sapphire3546

I find it hilarious that he’s taken enough heaves to lower his shooting percentage that noticeably. He really may be the only player in the league dedicated to taking them

  22. Hungry-Act8691

Just needs to be top 5 seed to get the MVP. Period. Giannis ain’t it.

  23. Yeah it’s time to start tuning into some warriors games

  24. I said it once and I’ll say it again. When curry won hes second chip I knew the bron era was over.

  25. RealPrinceJay

He’s the best player in the NBA and it’s not a question for me.
