The Utah Jazz are stunning everyone. They were supposed to be tanking, but instead…they’re competing for a top seed in the West. What’s going on?

Oh boy, generational one sided trades:
Brooklyn Nets trade for KG & PP
Jayson Tatum for Markelle Fultz
The Rudy Gorbert trade
They can’t keep letting Ainge get away with this
Early season luck ….. another 14 15 Atlanta Hawk team
danny ainge always gets a good deal
Am I wrong or did Markannen was the fastest player to hit 50 threes? I swear I saw it on TV
Lauri finally gets respect he deserves! So glad he came out from that Bulls situation. I hope Ainge don't trade away any key players. Jazz have picks, they should be able to trade all-star. If they would add one all-star, they could be legit play-off team.
One established star will put Jazz on top… Preferably 2 way wing player… Like Paul George or Demar… If not even OG… Will significantly increase their ceiling…
I always was a Kelly fan back with the pistons he's like the drunken master with unorthodox style and as for Lauri I didn't expect this but I knew he was always capable of being more then spit up shooter
Dude no one ever believes in the Jazz. They talk them down every year they make the playoffs, and any time they've got a high seed going into the playoffs, fans talk like they're all knowledgeable and they know the Jazz are a bad playoffs team and won't do well.
But the truth is they don't know, and fans simply like to hate on the Jazz. There's no reason the Jazz can't succeed in the playoffs, and fans shouldn't act like it's a given if the Jazz go to the playoffs or if they even go in with a really high seed, that they're a guaranteed first or second round exit.
Shout out Lauri and the U of A for bringing in savages into the league!
Vando is actually shooting like 50% from three this year
Smh the Jazz are suppose to be tanking.
The jazz are sitting in a wonderful position in all aspects of the organization
Ooof, this is a tough one… break it up or continue this awesome run? Their player stock is 🔝
Until the Jazz trade Clarkson, Conley, and Sexton later this season…
Luari became in my opinion a great defender last year while taking a back seat on the other end. I think that really gave him a baseline identity and a certain level of respect going into this season on his new team.
Why do you want Clarkson to moves back to the bench and sexton will take charge at SG starter.. Lauri is the main man now but the heart and soul of the tram is JC
It's obvious now that poor management had cost them at least one finals appearance. If the team demonstrated anything resembling dedication and defensive game plan, they would've beaten both the '21 Mavs and '20 Clippers easily. The front office saw great defensive ratings and figured they were good to go and that strengthening the perimeter defense is completely unnecessary, not realizing that they were completely reliant upon some historic defensive performances by Gobert to keep them afloat. They had the same problem for 3 seasons straight – nonexistent perimeter defense and backup 5 position (which they did sort of fix by signing Whiteside). What did they do? Sign Gay, Paschall and Juancho, guys who played around 10 MPG, on some nights even combined.
Imagine if Danny did the smart(er) thing and traded Royce, Bogdanović and Mitchell (in that order preferably) while keeping Gobert. They could have gotten even more assets if other teams hadn't realized that they were selling. Mitchell could've brought you Okoro in addition while Bogdanović's quality warrants at least a first round pick and a younger prospect (alongside Olynyk, obviously). The Jazz could've been a legitimate threat now instead of just a cool story. Imagine Gobert on a roster that plays 10th-15th best defense in the league instead of non-effort they've shown in the past years' playoffs. If you don't like your chances in that case, you have some interesting players and 5-6 first round picks to play with.
I remember during the dog days of summer when nothing was happening but fake KD trades there was some buzz about Laurie and Finland playing really well at EuroBasket. I remember thinking to myself, well, take an NBA player and make him the focal point of a team and yeah, he'll put up numbers. Somebody has to score the points of course. So I shrugged it off completely but apparently Laurie really figured some shit out over the summer and the EuroBasket stuff was real. He's been so impressive this season, and Will Hardy has immediately established himself as an excellent coach. Lots of parity right now, I feel like the game is in a wonderful place. On the court at least. Hopefully Irving and Primo, etc will refrain from creating any further headlines and everyone can focus on the fantastic basketball being played all over the league.
I always knew lauri had potential he can be an all star if he'll keep playing like this
Ainge is a master, as is Altman. Hope both teams keep them, and they soon meet in the finals. It's great when the small market teams are successful while the egotistical big market teams struggle.
Danny Ainge with another finesse. Whether it was accidental or intentional the Jazz have been playing good basketball
GO JAZZ
I really wannna see Jazz use Fontecchio more him and Markanenn were stand our forwards at Eurobasket and so why would he contribute
Lauri poster on gobert speaks volumes lol bro perfect for this vid niccce
Ainge also screwed my Lakers giving us Pat Bev he been attrocious at least on offense. On defense it isn’t good 😂enough to warrant him on the floor.
Almost like a short Mateese Thybulle.
Danny Ainge might get the claim best front office personel ever. He mats Boston a title contender with IT while still having many picks for the future and he has done the same for the Jazz.
This is like when Okc Thunder traded Russel Westbrook and Pg13 and kept competing with tons of picks/ picks swaps and rebuilding good stuff Jazz!
I just started working full time in the business analyst department with the Jazz and I'm happy to see the Jazz doing well so far!
Gobert for 5 first round picks? Timberwolves are in trouble. All 5 might be lottery picks. Good job, Utah.
Where the hell was lauri at when he was at the bulls and cavs smh i can't believe what happened smh he surprised me
Pop developing coaches that continue his legacy is beautiful and he still a beast with the spurs they playing way better then they should be his system is reliable
lol, november champions.
The video claims that Jordan Clarkson's time as a 6th man helps him in his role as starting SG. It doesn't give any evidence to back that claim.
How would that make any sense, even intuitively? Jordan Clarkson has been a high volume and low efficiency chucker. His 6 man contributions are of the Jamal Crawford variety where he scores a lot of points off the bench on poor shooting splits. He shot 41.9/31.8/82.8 last year on about 14 shots per game to average 16 ppg. I don't know why you would look at that and say "Oh yeah, doing that for 2.5 years helped shape him into a good starting SG."
Clarkson is NOW average 18.6 on 43.9/41.2/78.8, and most notably is averaging 5.2 assists compared to 2.5 last year. I agree that he's thriving in this role, but I don't agree that it's because of his time coming off the bench. It's far more likely that he just meshes better with the new roster.
0:39 There's a typo, should be Jazz not Cavs
rudy gobert and other giant in timberwolves are losing
I'm happy for Lauri as a Bulls fan
yoooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Cant wait for Mitchell to lose in the first round again. Will we finally stop the cavs won that trade then ?
The Jazz franchise is weird, because they have always been good. Even the season after they loss Gordon Hayward they still made the playoffs.
This team reminds me of that Atlanta Hawks team of Teague, Korver, Carrol, Millsap, and Horford. It's a team full of guys we heard of but know they aren't exactly stars yet they a top team
If you ask me, Lauri Markkanen is running away with the MIP award right now 😤😤😤
