I mean, what are the alternatives to a Beal Deal? And it would be more like a temporary big 3 model, considering that Bron probably isn't a Laker beyond next year. Unless you're trying to tear it all the way down and build from scratch, which doesn't sound like LA, I don't see how you could be against it. Assuming that it's even a legit option, of course.

No rebuilding team cares about his 6th man cred and no contending team that could use him as a 6th man will either want to pay him 45m for the role or have bad contracts equal to that figure furthermore the Lakers are trying to win they want to get better not receive bad contract plus a longterm asset from a contender. At the end of the day he has roughly the same value as prior because he will need to be bought out by whatever tanking team trades for him. What has changed is he is far more attractive to teams after being bought out.
