.SACRAMENTO, Calif. —‌ The Sacramento Kings definitely didn’t leave the front porch lights on or lay out the welcome mat at the front door waiting for the return of Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. 🎙

Sacramento routed former Kings players Haliburton, Hield, and their new team the Indiana Pacers 137-114 at Golden1 Center on Nov.30 to end a three-game skid. 🎙

“Kudos to them man, they had a heck of a game,” Haliburton said after the game. “They had a lot of guys contribute. They’ve been a good team this year. They just outplayed us tonight.”

Haliburton had nine points, 10 assists, four rebounds, and two steals against the team that drafted him the 12th pick overall in the 2020 NBA Draft. Hield had 17 points, four rebounds, and four assists for the Pacers (12-9). 🎙

Both players got a standing ovation before the game but every time Hield touched the ball on the floor he was met with boos by most of the sellout crowd of 17,611. He is the Kings’ all-time leader in 3-point baskets. 🎙

Hield was traded by the New Orleans Pelican during his rookie year to the Kings in exchange for DeMarcus Cousin in February 2017. Hield said he has moved on with his career but still keeps tabs on the Kings. 🎙

“Fan reaction? That’s their opinion,” Hield said. “My opinion is Indiana Pacers and how can we bounce back next game against Utah (Jazz). You lose games and you win games. If we win it would’ve been great and probably would be a great storyline. At the end of the day, basketball is basketball.”

Hield added, “Mike Brown is doing a great job. I watched these guys all the time. He’s coaching them right and he’s coaching them hard. He’s talking like he’s a player out there. So, hats off to them. It’s been great for them.”

Seven Kings players scored in double figures. Harrison Barnes had 22 points, five rebounds, and two steals for the Kings (11-9), who improved to 7-4 at G1C. De’Aaron Fox had 19 points, six assists, and five rebounds and Malik added 20 points, six assists, and four rebounds off the bench. 🎙

Fox’s 19 points allowed him to pass Bob Davies for 18th on the Kings’ All-Time points list with 6,595 points. It was Monk’s fifth game of the season with 20-plus points off the bench and he ties for third among the list for most 20-point games by a reserve. Monk is also the first player with multiple 20-point games off the bench since Hield. 🎙

Domantas Sabonis recorded his 13th double-double of the season, which ties for second most in the NBA. Sabonis finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. He wasn’t really concerned about all the hoopla surrounding him and his former team, the Pacers. 🎙

The Pacers and Kings agreed on a trade on Feb. 8, 2022, that included Domantas Sabonis and Haliburton. To sweeten the deal, Indiana made Jeremy Lamb, Justin Holiday, and a 2027 second-round draft pick available in exchange for Hield and Tristan Thompson.

“That was the most important thing,” Sabonis said, halting the losing streak. “I told the guys that it doesn’t matter that it’s the Pacers. We needed to figure out how not to let this go on to four (straight loss). We gotta protect home court.”

Fox and Haliburton were named Western Conference and Eastern Conference Player of the Week, respectively, on Nov.1.

Trey Lyles was out again for the Kings with a non-COVID illness. 🎙

The Kings will play on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 3. The team will play the Chicago Bulls the next day at 3:00 p.m. G1C. 🎙
