The NBA won't tell YOU this about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the OKC Thunder | NBA future MVP

#OklahomaCityThunder #ShaiGilgeousAlexander #NBA

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been a very competitive team to start the 2022-2023 NBA season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has looked like a total franchise star for the Thunder and he has been across NBA highlights this early in the season, as SGA has been averaging more than 31 points per game and more than 6 assists, with really efficient shooting numbers. But is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander a superstar? Aleksej Pokusevski has been a revelation for OKC, Josh Giddey has been building on his rookie season, Lu Dort continues with his offensive growth, and Jalen Williams wins KIA NBA Western Conference rookie of the month. But Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been the key driving force behind this young Oklahoma City Thunder roster. Even without 7 foot big man Chet Holmgren, OKC not only is scoring quite well, but coach Mark Daigneault has also unleashed a solid defensive team. Shai’s defense is a huge factor why OKC is staying competitive and why he might win the Most Improved player award and become a first time all-star for the Thunder.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looks like a superstar already and the OKC Thunder’s rebuild is off to a great start. OKC Thunder highlights have been full of SGA’s offensive highlights but his defense has been a revelation this year. Shai is averaging almost 2 steals and more than 1 block per game. Shai is doing this while scoring more than Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant, and while shooting free throws better than Steph Curry. If Shai’s defense is sustainable, then we can expect the OKC Thunder to have a really bright future, with a potential line-up of Shai, Josh Giddey, Lu Dort, Aleksej Pokusevski, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, or even Victor Wembanyama. In this, let’s look into Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his improved defense for the OKC Thunder.

  1. SGA has a high chance to be a Top 5 candidate in MVP, DPOY & MIP awards with Shai playing in a
All NBA and All Defensive type of caliber season I have no doubt SGA will be a All Star Starter as well

  2. This team is gonna be a problem come playoff time next year and we still could get some decent trades too. I think Dort and Baze are gone possibly packaged together for one bigger better deal J Dub has taken Dorts spot and Dort has not looked as good as hoped should get another good 1st round pick for him though.

  3. Players that put up points on terrible teams don’t impress me. Someone has to be the leading scorer. Especially when your given the greenest of green lights. No other player on OKC is even averaging above 14ppg

  4. He has the chance of being the best Canadian player all time, the only real competition he has is Steve nash

  5. Magic fan here. SGA is probably my favorite non-Magic player. Super envious, I think a player with his skill set is exactly what the Magic are missing at guard and would take them to the next level. I am hoping Suggs can continue to improve, or maybe we get a top guard in this next draft (i.e. Scoot) since we are looking like a bottom team again this year lol.

  6. As this team ripens, when Shai and Josh mesh, when Poku, Ousmane, Jalen, Tre and the others fill out and especially when Chet begins, and perception of this current kiddy squad will radically change. But who knows? Maybe we can luckily get Cam Whitmore.
