The Sacramento Kings have cracked a lower half defensive rating. They now have the 14th ranked defense at 112.3

Today’s game was their 3rd in a row with a defensive rating of 100.0 or less. Over their last 7 games they’ve posted a defensive rating of 106.1.

Sabonis is 3rd in field goals attempted-defended at the rim. Among the top 50 in FGA defended, Sabonis ranks 7th(!) and is limiting his opponents to 53%. Fox is also playing the best defense of his career.

Mike brown has been able to have two known defensive liabilities lock in for results.

His former employer was allowing 120ppg for awhile, now down to 116, 7h worst in the league.

The old Doug Christie era Kings were top 5 defensive team at one point.

I said it earlier this season. The Kings ain’t kinging like they used to. They’re actually a really entertaining to watch and winning, can’t hate on that

Back during the first winning streak I was saying that the defense could get to the “average range”, 14-18th. I was thinking that a top 5 offense and a below average defense was enough for like 44-48 wins and the playoffs. Now I’m greedy and I want a top 5 offense with a top 10 defense!
