The Brooklyn Nets really seem to be back on track. Kevin Durant is Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving seems bought in and even Ben Simmons has been solid for the most part. Are the Nets really contenders or pretenders?

Not sure about this. They weren't crushed by the Celtics and the Celtics are the best team in the league.

They job is to grow as a team and keep getting better, which they are doing currently. The celtics struggle last year, but they ended up in the finals. Too in the season to ask this stupid take bro why are getting better as a team.
If they don’t make playoffs or first round exit I could see u being right but if they can make conference finals Atleast I don’t see them changing much

Just cause they are playing better Now doesn't mean that all this talk about them being contenders should start resurfacing now I think they like it it best when their not talked about in that light they haven't been a complete team Yet when going up against the top contenders in the East yet when they can beat Boston and Milwaukee then we'll revisit this conversation for now just let them continue to keep flying under the radar.

I am really confused regarding this title. Are you serious? The Nets are certainly a contender. They have room to grow and plenty of good talent to grow with. Fans and bias reporters don't recognize the defense Kyrie, Kd, and that team plays. If the ref's weren't killing them with so many ghost fouls while they are retreating and the offensive player is running straight through them and still get a foul called for them and against the Nets which is abusive because you are not giving the Nets the same touch fouls or even hard fouls they are receiving.
Just calm down people. We are building towards that but they are not even close to completing with the two heavy weights. To be 4th at this stage is nice given their start with Nash. We still need Simmons to be better integrated and a big man like Day’Ron to take those rebounds.
Not having Ben or Yuta is a huge disadvantage against the Celtics. I want to see those big wings in the lineup the next time they play the Celtics or the Bucks. If they still get beaten convincingly with their best defenders playing.. then it's time to make some trades
Idk men tj warren starting to work back on his game his starting to look good and watanabe is improving daily pieces is coming together with the nets. I don’t think this is it they are actually improving as the season progresses same thing happen to the Celtics last year they sucked in the beginning of the season after January they got even better. They are a lot healthier now and they starting to figure out how their pieces can work together I think on this you got it wrong. Your prob just pushing for Kyrie to get traded again lol
I see the same narrative that all of the other major media fail to take into account. Key players being out while playing the better teams. If BK wins against a better team and they are missing key players.. "Its oh so and so wasn't playing" when BK loses to a good team with their key players out that's never mentioned its always "They can't beat the best teams therefore they are not true contenders"

Nets could very well be contenders with just a few tweaks, like if they acquire a big man to tighten up their defense on the paint alongside Simmons – then they will have some ammo against Giannis and the Bucks. Nets also need to learn to defend the 3 pt line which is always necessary against the Celtics. We got Kyrie making 11 rebounds in 1 night, KD with 4 … I believe the Nets are back with a vendetta and they won’t go down easy.

Did u watch that Boston game cuz they did not get spank the nets that game was close the entire game and that’s with out Ben yuta and TJ who playing great this team is a stretch big away from being in contention and it makes no sense to trade KD unless we get something that keep us competitive cuz we don’t own our picks kyrie is something that can be work out cuz he is from the city and his entire family is here we u think he leave Kevin’s to go play with another injury prone player and a 40 year old star who chasing Kareem like make it make sense dude
