Dallas Mavericks Trade Rumors: Shams Charania Links John Collins To Mavs, Big Trade Coming Soon?

Mavericks Trade rumors are hot after Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Mavericks have interest in John Collins ahead of the December 15th date that lifts trade restrictions in the NBA. With the Mavs sitting at .500 thus far in the 2022-23 NBA season, could Mark Cuban be compelled to trade Christian Wood or Tim Hardaway Jr. to acquire Collins? The Mavs have been linked to John Collins trade rumors before, and this time they could actually pull the trigger.

Shams Charania’s Report via The Athletic on John Collins:
“The Hawks have had several teams in the Collins market, such as Utah, Washington, Brooklyn and Dallas, sources said. Atlanta has not shown interest so far in a potential framework that would contain Brooklyn’s Joe Harris, those sources said. Phoenix has a desire for Collins but does not appear inclined to take on the forward, who is in the second season of a five-year, $125 million pact.”

  1. I said trade for bodan from the pistons and Terry r and if woods don't get better trade him before deadline for turner or mo Bamba

  2. This team needs wins now if we want Luka to stay. Draft capital down the road isn't valuable to this team NOW. I would totally give up picks if we can pair C-wood and Collins both on the court. If this team is going to win they need to be aggressive and giving up picks is something that should be a no-brainer

  3. Kuzma would be better but either is just one move can't use everything because there will need to be a 3rd move to contend

  4. I just don't see how trading for ANOTHER big helps. Rozier should be a guy they try for.

  5. I wouldn't give up Wood for Collins honestly. I just think Wood is too dynamic of an offensive player to give up for someone who in some games will only score 9 points in 30 minutes which is something that occurs often with Collins. Yeah he can pop a 3 here and there and has the occasional 20 point game maybe twice a month, and is better on the defensive end, but he'd ONLY be good on the floor with Luka, having Wood being able to be the primary creator for the bench unit while Luka rests AND being even better when they play together. I'd give up Powell and Tim for sure but not Wood.
