Jacque Vaughn’s history

As the man is now getting a lot of praise for coaching, I thought everyone should know a little about the man. This is from his wiki: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacque\_Vaughn](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacque_Vaughn) and a great piece from the Athletic [https://theathletic.com/1730280/2020/04/09/my-favorite-player-jacque-vaughn/](https://theathletic.com/1730280/2020/04/09/my-favorite-player-jacque-vaughn/)

* A native of Pasadena, California, Vaughn attended [John Muir High School](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Muir_High_School) in nearby [Pasadena](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasadena,_California), where he maintained a 3.94 [GPA](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPA),
* In his senior year of HS was ranked as high as the no. 7 high school recruit in the country and the no. 2 point guard in the class of 1993
* At the [McDonald’s All-American Game](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonald%27s_All-American_Game) he put on a show, scoring only 6 points but amassing 13 assists (still a McDonald’s record) .
* Vaughn earned a 3.72 GPA as a business administration major at Kansas.
* Vaughn married his college sweetheart, Laura in 2003. The couple have two sons together. He enjoys reading and writing poetry .
* Kansas coach Roy Williams liked to tell people that his point guard from Pasadena would one day be the governor of California. Jacque liked to unwind with the words of Maya Angelou and Sylvia Plath. He was an academic all-American, one of the best college basketball players in the country, and an old soul. If he was going to make a big announcement, he wanted it to be thoughtful.
