Utah Jazz best defensive night of year, Nickell Alexander-Walker growth path, 12-6 when Mike starts

The Utah Jazz had their best overall and best defensive performance of the season against the New Orleans Pelicans last night. The Jazz commitment to the game plan was impressive on the defensive end and the offensive end they took advantage of the New Orleans Pelicans weaknesses, including Zion Williamson.

The Jazz got inspiried performances from Jared Vanderbilt and Walker Kessler in the middle as they combined for a mammoth 46 minutes of center minutes. Nickell Alexander-Walker continues to show amazing growth and yesterday he shared about his approach and what has allowed him to grow.

Finally, the rightful order of the basketball universe was in order for the Jazz last night and you could see them play as a unit. Rudy Gay did a fabulous job guarding Zion Williamson and all the pieces flowed last night.

The Utah Jazz are now 12-6 when Mike Conley starts with 9 wins against teams with winning records. It makes you wonder how good this team is if they are healthy or if maybe things get added not subtracted from the roster.

  1. Love NAWs length at the pg position on defense. I wonder if we could se him play pg with sexton playing off ball.

  2. Feel bad for THT, has good possibilities… but seems to make bad decisions…. like shooting 3's!!! Every time he launches (at 25%), my wife and I yell in unison, "what are you doing?"
