Herb, Naji, and Jose have had a really rough stretch offensively. Just seem lost and can’t hit shots from outside. Gotta be better if we don’t want Zion to be quadruple-teamed 24/7.

CJ continues to be dumb as a box of rocks in crunch time. I just don’t get it. 2 minutes left hits and his brain shuts off.

Wasted an amazing JV game. This is what happens when Willie actually lets him play and get in rhythm.

Defense overall has been terrible during this losing streak. Just all around. Can’t stay in front of people, can’t protect the paint, can’t rebound, just awful.

Hopefully Thursday will be a game to get our morale back and get our defense right.

Giannis is a bad matchup for us which is understandable especially with Nance out

Zion gotta be do more than 18. Herb gotta hit ONE of those threes, his shooting is becoming a big problem. CJ was solid but the end was rough.

JV stepped up and it’s a shame how his performance was wasted by mid teammate play. With how tense everything is if things continue to get bad, the 7th seed is looking right at us.

    BI come back

Jrue gave us coal for Christmas on that dagger 3 😥

Giannis had 22 FT? Couldn’t watch the game.

Almost 20 more FGA and 40+% from 3 and losing is worrying. Where the hell did the defensive effort from the winning streak go?

I’m tired of hearing that every good team we face is a bad matchup for us. If we want to consider ourselves a good team we need to win against good teams sometimes, and right now we just *can’t*.

    3 points:

    1. We miss BI badly

    2. Rather have Trey than Herb the last 5 minutes of the game bc he can shoot

    3. Enough of this CJ hero ball bullshit. BI had this problem and found his spots instead of chucking it. There was no need for CJ to shoot that long ass 3.

Though I’m always a proponent of feeding the hot hand, I think Zion’s initial lack of active offensive involvement – instead serving as a passive gravitational force to set up Jonás – really ended hurting the Pelicans. Zion needs more touches, we got back in this game when we ran our offense through him.

I don’t like how hard Zion has to work in this offense. Something has to give. Even SVG got more out of him in the same amount of minutes he’s playing now and that was with zero shooting.

I think I know what the problem is. I’ve watched the last four games on the other teams broadcast.

More seriously, Im done with moral victories so I don’t care that they almost came back. Bench gave you 11 points, JV started supernova just to not be played or cool off, CJ killed the momentum constantly and Zion didn’t play his best game either. They just don’t look very good right now. I doubt BI fixes most of it, but it’ll be a start.

Honestly wasnt an awful game it just hurts because its 4 straight Ls. Seems like we are constantly on the shit end of the stick with refs – we simply dont get the same calls especially Zion.

That being said we have to control what we can control and we arent didnt do what it takes to win. Herb and Trey having a bit of a sophomore slump lately. Cant get BI back fast enough. Back at it Thursday vs Spurs. The rest will do us well.

    JV was incredible tn.

I wasn’t expecting to beat the Bucks, but dropping two to the Jazz to start this four game losing streak is unacceptable.

I think it’s a little premature to think this team can stand pat at the trade deadline. This bench needs a change or two.

While the loss stings, I am very heartened by the heart to get the game back to one possession in the 4th. Good learning experience against good defense.

Bad matchup. Glad to see JV ball out. Need more from our role players – Herb, Trey, Naji, Jose, etc. If BI is out much longer than a combination of guys need to step up.

  16. FlockedDown

Ex-pelican players love to beat us man, except AD he’s a real one for that

  17. KidsInChinaHaveNo

Wonder how much the media darling tour after the win streak is disrupting this team. Seems they couldn’t lose anything then. Now they only got 2 guys doing their job per night which is not nearly enough.

  18. Razor-Ramon-Sessions

Our bench has been pretty bad since the first game in Utah. Jose, Naji, and Trey have been cold. It’s hard to win when we are only getting production from 3 guys.

Herbs been mega struggling too. Pretty much a non-factor to the other team as a shooting threat.

So they build a wall against Zion and we can’t make them pay. This game should also teach Z he needs to pull up for the middy instead of just forcing it against that kind of length. He’s getting frustrated from all the non-calls, rightfully so, but heeds to keep his cool because it affects his play on both ends.

  19. DsiEnthusiast

CJ taking more shots than Zion will always be a problem

It’s better to be exposed for our weaknesses now with time to work on them than to be exposed in the playoffs. The Bucks are the best team in the NBA. The Suns are 3rd in the West. Utah is a play-in team. Long season, we all know the problems of this squad. Just have to believe they’ll be addressed as Brandon Ingram gets back, and guys have time to review film and practice. Tough to do that on a road trip.
